2ch Meisakusen Personal Library Builder 0.1.1
================================================

Release date: 2026-08-11

This Windows utility creates book databases for the Palm OS application
"2ch Meisakusen". No third-party story text, downloaded page, or completed
third-party book PDB is included. The Masterpiece Links tab contains only
public source-page titles, labels, and URLs.
Third-party software license texts are included in THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.txt.
Every listed URL is an entry point only; no single listed URL is a complete
copy of its work. The tab shows the required saved-document, chapter, and post
counts and final full-record CRC-32 and SHA-256 fingerprints for a complete
personal build.

Quick start
-----------

1. Start TwoChLibraryBuilder_0.1.1.exe.
2. Select a source under Masterpiece Links and open it in your browser or copy
   its URL.
3. Check the source terms and lawfully save the verified target pages as HTML.
4. Use the saved-file button to pass the files to the next tab.
For a large saved-page set, add its folder in one operation.
5. Arrange multiple threads or chapters in reading order.
6. Enter a title, review the personal-use notice, and click the build button.
7. Use "Add to Palm Install Tool" or install the generated PDB manually.

You can also drop supported files onto the EXE in Windows Explorer. They will
be preloaded in the same order.

Folder import recursively adds HTML, HTM, DAT, TXT, and JSON in natural
relative-path order; unrelated images and stylesheets are ignored.

What the Builder adds over a generic PalmDoc converter
------------------------------------------------------

- Detects saved 2ch/5ch DAT and supported archived-thread HTML
- Preserves one Palm record per post
- Combines multiple threads or chapters into one work
- Preserves the selected chapter order
- Performs strict Palm CP932 validation
- Re-parses every generated record and validates CRC-32 checksums
- Rejects an incomplete or differently ordered masterpiece against its known
full-record CRC-32 and SHA-256 before replacing any existing output
- Saves source SHA-256 and a content-free provenance report
- Queues selected PDBs in Palm Install Tool when available

Masterpiece Links
-----------------

The first tab lists seven candidate works and nine public source-page URLs,
plus the expected complete saved-document, chapter, and post counts.
It can open one selected URL in the default browser or copy it to the Windows
clipboard. Merely displaying this list makes no network request: the Builder
does not automatically download the page, crawl links, or save story text.

After lawfully saving material in the browser, use the saved-file button to
move to the next tab and select the files. The links tab deliberately does not
copy an entry URL into the conversion queue, because pre-release real-data
testing confirmed that none of the nine entry URLs alone produces a complete
work. Source availability and terms can change; verify them yourself.

URL import
----------

URL import fetches only the exact pages entered by the user, one at a time,
with a validated local cache. It does not crawl links, sign in, solve CAPTCHAs,
or bypass access restrictions. Direct fetching from 5ch/2ch and @Wiki is
disabled until source permission is confirmed; save those pages in your web
browser and import the local HTML or DAT instead. Select the refresh-cache
checkbox when a page has changed or a cached response needs to be replaced.
Local/private addresses are rejected. URL userinfo is rejected, and URL query
or fragment values are omitted from cache metadata, book files, and provenance.

Rights and privacy
------------------

Only use material you are entitled to copy. Generated book PDBs, canonical
JSON, and source caches are private working files. Do not upload, publish, or
share them without permission from the relevant rights holders and source
sites. The Builder has no cloud upload or sharing feature.

The source cache and generated files remain under the output folder selected
by the user. No account password, browser cookie, or PalmDB credential is read.

Requirements
------------

- Windows 10 or later for this packaged build
- 2ch Meisakusen on a Palm OS 3.5-or-later device
- Palm Desktop/HotSync or another PDB installation method

The EXE is self-contained; Python is not required.

This freeware build is not digitally signed, so Windows SmartScreen may show
an unknown-publisher warning. Verify the ZIP SHA-256 published with the release
before running it. A code-signing certificate is not bundled or fabricated.
