2ch Meisakusen Personal Library Builder 0.3.0
================================================

Release date: 2026-09-04

This Windows utility creates book databases for the Palm OS application
"2ch Meisakusen". No third-party story text, downloaded page, or completed
third-party book PDB is included. The registered-masterpiece catalog contains
only ordered source URLs, audit SHA-256 values, and completion fingerprints.
Third-party software license texts are included in THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.txt.
All 3,945 required page URLs for seven works are registered. The Builder fetches
them only after the user selects a work and starts a build, then checks the
saved-document, chapter, post, full-record CRC-32, and SHA-256 completion values.
Together the seven registered works contain 77,861 posts and produce 82 numbered
PDBs when all seven are built.

Quick start
-----------

1. Start TwoChLibraryBuilder_0.3.0.exe.
2. Select one work under Registered Masterpieces.
3. Select the personal-use acknowledgement and click the full-book build button.
4. The Builder downloads the registered pages in fixed order, validates the
complete work, and writes a numbered PDB set with exactly 1,000 global posts
per full volume. The final volume may be shorter. Interrupted downloads resume
   from cache.
5. Use "Select all volumes and open Install Tool". The Builder validates the
complete set, selects every PDB in Windows Explorer, and opens Palm Install
Tool without file arguments. It does not queue the PDBs automatically.
6. In Install Tool, choose the Palm user and click OK. Drag all Explorer-selected
PDBs into Install Tool, or use Add to select them together. Confirm the exact
file count shown by the Builder, then click Done for the next HotSync.

Even though a large work is stored in several PDBs, Reader 0.2.0 or later shows
it as one logical work. Moving from post 1,000 to 1,001 opens the next volume
automatically, and the list, saved position, and page-jump dialog use whole-work
post numbers. An incomplete or inconsistent volume set is rejected; install all
numbered PDBs before reading the work.

For N volumes the filenames end in _001-of-NNN.pdb through _NNN-of-NNN.pdb.
Works of 1 to 1,000 posts still produce the explicit _001-of-001.pdb filename.

You can also drop supported files onto the EXE in Windows Explorer. They will
be preloaded in the same order.

Folder import recursively adds HTML, HTM, DAT, TXT, and JSON in natural
relative-path order; unrelated images and stylesheets are ignored.

What the Builder adds over a generic PalmDoc converter
------------------------------------------------------

- Detects saved 2ch/5ch DAT and supported archived-thread HTML
- Preserves one Palm record per post
- Combines multiple threads or chapters into one work
- Preserves the selected chapter order
- Splits every work at exact 1,000-global-post boundaries into numbered PDBs
- Validates all volumes as one complete logical work before opening them for install
- Performs strict Palm CP932 validation
- Re-parses every generated record and validates CRC-32 checksums
- Rejects an incomplete or differently ordered masterpiece against its known
full-record CRC-32 and SHA-256 before replacing any existing output
- Downloads every registered page for one selected masterpiece in fixed order
- Reuses a SHA-256-validated cache after cancellation or network failure
- Shows one continuous progress bar, remaining-page count, and current URL while
fetching, parsing, and validating the completed PDB set
- Saves source SHA-256 and a content-free provenance report
- Selects every validated PDB in Explorer and opens Palm Install Tool without
file arguments when available; it never claims the files were queued automatically

Registered Masterpieces
-----------------------

The first tab lists seven works, nine representative source pages, and every
required document URL: 11 / 3,744 / 2 / 88 / 20 / 12 / 68 pages. Merely
displaying the list makes no network request. Starting a full-book build fetches
only the fixed ordered URLs for the selected work; it does not discover new
links, crawl a site, sign in, solve CAPTCHAs, or bypass access controls.

The manifest contains no story text or downloaded page. A raw-page SHA-256 is
retained for diagnostics, while the parsed complete-record CRC-32 and SHA-256
decide whether a valid PDB may replace an existing output. Source availability
and terms can change; verify them yourself.

URL import
----------

Arbitrary URL import fetches only the exact pages entered by the user, one at a time,
with a validated local cache. It does not crawl links, sign in, solve CAPTCHAs,
or bypass access restrictions. Direct arbitrary-URL fetching from 5ch/2ch and
@Wiki remains disabled. The registered-masterpiece path separately permits only
exact URLs embedded in the bundled content-free manifest. Select the refresh-cache
checkbox when a page has changed or a cached response needs to be replaced.
Local/private addresses are rejected. URL userinfo is rejected, and URL query
or fragment values are omitted from cache metadata, book files, and provenance.

Rights and privacy
------------------

Only use material you are entitled to copy. Generated book PDBs, canonical
JSON, and source caches are private working files. Do not upload, publish, or
share them without permission from the relevant rights holders and source
sites. The Builder has no cloud upload or sharing feature.

The source cache and generated files remain under the output folder selected
by the user. No account password, browser cookie, or PalmDB credential is read.

Requirements
------------

- Windows 10 or later for this packaged build
- 2ch Meisakusen Reader 0.2.0 or later on a Palm OS 3.5-or-later device
- Palm Desktop/HotSync or another PDB installation method

The EXE is self-contained; Python is not required.

This freeware build is not digitally signed, so Windows SmartScreen may show
an unknown-publisher warning. Verify the ZIP SHA-256 published with the release
before running it. A code-signing certificate is not bundled or fabricated.
