DateBk6 Version & Slipstream History Details
This file is only intended for
Power Users who want to know every single issue and fix that have been applied
in all prior interim releases.
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.1b, s2
New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- Fixes a problem created by a bug in Google's GooSync
whereby the tagged note field is corrupted and could cause DateBk6 to crash.
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.1b, s1
New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- Fixes problem of not removing a blank entry if the blank
entry was modified (i.e. text entered, then erased, then insert pointer put
somewhere else - this due to the new addition of the <Modified:> flag
for Pimlical.
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.1b, s0
New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- If a calendar database consisted only of floating events, a
spurious error message was getting generated on every floating advance.
- When syncing with the V-6.2 Desktop, floating events
created on the Palm Handheld were still creating a sync issue that could cause
an unexpected message about an item being modified on both platforms.
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.1a, s7
New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- When syncing with the V-6.2 Desktop, there is a known bug
in the palm conduit that causes certain types of weekly repeat events to not
be displayed properly (and after syncing back to handheld, won't display
properly there either). DateBk6 has a fix for this problem, but it was
inadvertently setting the Modified ("dirty") flag on those repeats
which would cause them to sync back to the desktop - which meant if the repeat
had also been edited on the desktop, the conduit would then complain the item
had been modified on both platforms and then cause it to duplicate. S7 no
longer sets that flag.
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.1a, s6
New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- If you are synching Pimlical with both Google
Calendar and with a Palm Handheld, you need to use this release as only this
release updates the Pimlical tag to ensure that items modified on the handheld
are then synced to Google Calendar after being read by Pimlical.
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.1a, s5
New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- If you are syncing Alarms and Repeats in Tasks (More(3)
Adv. Settings) and changing such events on the desktop (only possible with
Pimlical or Outlook as the Palm V-6.2 desktop cannot do this), DateBk6 now
ensures that the task is not marked as being modified (previously it always
ended up as being marked as modified, so if you subsequently changed the task
on the desktop, you would then get a hotsync conflict and the task would get
duplicated.
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.1a, s4
New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- If you create a new, repeat floating event on today's date
(or earlier date) or if you change the status of a non-repeat floating event
to a repeat that starts on or before today, DateBk6 will now automatically
invoke the floating event advance so that the float is advanced to the next
occurrence and a non-repeat instance created on today's date. This rather
obscure change is to accommodate users with Pimlical since Pimlical will
automatically do that itself when it reads the file (thereby modifying the
event) and DateBk will itself perform that action on the next day, thereby
causing an unexpected hotsync conflict.
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.1a, s3
New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- Ignores changes in the repeat specification for the
start-of-week because the Palm Desktop has a bug where it hard-wires that
value to Sunday and that was causing DateBk6 to update the record if Pimlical
(which does not have that bug) created/modified the record and had a start of
week on a day other than Sunday.
- Avoids generating an explicit timezone tag when a record
from the desktop is slotted for a specific timezone that happens to perfectly
match (along with DST rule) the timezone that is set as the Home Time Zone.
Slip2009_08_13_17_41
- If DateBk is not handling alarms, and the preference to
sync alarm & repeat information to the Tasks database is set, DateBk6 now
allows you to set alarms, and the alarms will go off properly in the built-in
tasks application. This is of particular interest in the version to run on the
Palm Pre...
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.1a, s2
New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- Fixes problem of Todo Alarms not going off properly when
preference option to sound alarms on advances is set, and preference option to
display advanced ToDo's on all days is set.
- Now hides all the Pimlical tags in the note field.
Slip2009_03_12_13_45
- Now handles the <TimeOnly> meta-tag from Pimlical which
indicates that a task in Pimlical only had a time but not an alarm.
This causes the task alarm to be ignored by DateBk6.
- Changes logic in hiding Pimlical tags to hide all tags with
the form <xxxx> (which Pimlical uses), except for all the DateBk
pre-defined metatags (such as <NoLog>, <LogAll>, <NoAlarms>). Tags which are
the same in both Pimlical and DateBk will be displayed. This sidesteps the
problem of not knowing that a DateBk meta-tag is present in DateBk and
re-entering it again, or making it awkward to remove it.
Slip2009_03_18_18_52
- Ensures the alarm icon is not drawn on tasks that have a
time, but also the Pimlical tag <TimeOnly>.
Slip2009_07_13_11_23
- When synching timezone information to DateBk6 from the
Blobs in the Palm database records, dateBk6 now checks to see if the explicit
timezone matches the default timezone and if the record is designated for the
home timezone -- if so, DateBk6 will not generate an explicit timezone tag in
DateBk.
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.1a, s1
New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- Fixes problem of the DialPhone# feature allowing
invalid telephone numbers to be recognized if the telephone number was not
followed by any text.
- Fixes problem in Japanese and Chinese versions of the [T]
button sometimes being displayed on devices with low density screens (should
never be displayed as this option is not available on low density screens).
- Allows <ScheduleIn: xx> tag as an alternate for <ScheduleIn
xx> tag for compatibility with forthcoming Pimlical.
- Handles <RepeatStartOfWeek:x> tag in note field to
workaround bug in Palm's Access (V-6.2) desktop software, and also for
compatibility with forthcoming Pimlical. (Note: this tag can be
manually inserted into the note field in DateBk6 to avoid losing the
RepeatStartOfWeek designation when event is overwritten from desktop
(where x in the tag is: 0=Sunday, 1=Monday, 2=Tuesday, etc.).
- Ensures that the Birthday, Anniversary and Location
databases are also auto-closed when the option to close all databases when
inactive is selected (this option is used to provide better compatibility with
ActiveSync and other processes which may be opening and closing PIM databases
while DateBk is running.
- German Version: fixes a problem in Graphical Weekly View
when date is spanning a new year.
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.1a, s0
New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- Fixes problem of 5-way-Right button in Today view
sometimes going to the last displayed date in the Day View rather than
consistently going to Today's date (but only if Today View is selected by
tapping the [T] button with a stylus).
- Fixes problem of displaying ToDo's in Today View when
priority is being hidden and ToDo has an advance (Advance digit was position
too far to the right in some circumstances).
- Fixes problem in second weekly view with text when
displaying 2 weeks and scrolling items - the last day of the first week needs
to scroll more slowly since it does not display as many lines in that cell as
it does in the other cells.
- Now processes the Treo Alarm Volume and Vibration settings
an instant before an alarm goes off in case the user or some other third party
application has changed them since DateBk6 was last run (previously, it was
only processed during launch of DateBk6).
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.1a, r7
New Features in this Release:
Slip2008_02_07_12_57
- Adds feature to display templates in all categories
(including hidden categories) using just the keyboard: Press menu button, then
hold Shift key down while pressing Q (accelerator for Insert Template) or hold
shift key down while pressing select on the [T] button.
Slip2008_02_09_12_58
- Now includes end time of event when logging appointment
date/time to the note field of a contact (but only on non-zero duration
events).
New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- Fixes problem of red highlighting of Today on top line in
Day View sometimes getting lost (such as after an alarm has gone off).
- Fixes problem in Template Selection dialog where pressing
up/down could unexpectedly scroll the display to an item which had a '3' or
'6' as the first character.
- Provides a workaround for VersaMail wireless sync to avoid
problems when it attempts to open the PIM databases in the background while
DateBk6 is running (set option in More(3) Adv. Settings to enable this
workaround).
- If you go into the Details dialog on an item, tap the
Font/Color Selector and change the color palette itself and also have the
option set to update Saved Views, DateBk6 will now bring up the View selection
dialog so you can apply that change to other saved views (previously, the
change was made to the current preferences, but there was no option to update
saved views unless this change was made from the font/Color selector in the
Category profile dialog).
Slip2008_11_01_17_31
- Fixes problem of the Attention Manager bell not being
displayed in the Today and second weekly views.
Slip2008_01_14_11_24
- Fixes problem in German version on OS/4 and earlier devices
where a reset can occur when using the irregular repeat feature
Slip2008_01_14_12_49
- Fixes issue of displaying week number in Japanese (now puts
characters on either side of week number).
- Fixes issue of sporadic reset in Repeat Dialog in French
version on OS/4 devices.
Slip2008_01_15_20_05
- Fixes new issue - a side effect of change in slip of
11_01_17_31 - whereby menu in the second weekly view was "bouncing" back when
tapped with a stylus.
Slip2008_01_20_20_05
- When beaming multiple items from list view, now ensures no
duplicate records are sent for repeat events (previously handled by setting
the 1Repeat option which is now no longer needed) and events spanning
midnight (which were getting duplicated previously).
Slip2008_02_01_12_19
- Original R7 release fix noted above for going into details
dialog and changing the color palette was incomplete and ended up breaking the
similar path from the Preferences dialog. This slip corrects that problem and
also fixes a minor memory leak that also occurred (but which would most likely
never be noticed).
- Adds a high-resolution bitmap for the diamond symbol used
in the view buttons (just looks a bit nicer).
- Fixes reset if you dial a contact that has no first name,
no last name and no company name (only found by automated tester as having an
entry like this would make no sense anyway).
- Many new additions to the German and French preview
releases have now been made.
Slip2008_02_03_19_17
- A recent slipstream ended up inadvertently disabling the
feature to handle the synchronization of repeats and alarms with the built-in
Tasks application.
Slip2008_02_04_12_09
- Fixes Template Title Length err! error in French
version when Call/Action function is invoked.
Slip2008_02_07_12_57
- Japanese version now displays day of week after the date in
the List view, memo export views
- Adds high resolution bitmaps for diamond in second weekly
view also circular arrow in preferences
Slip2008_02_10_10_52
- Japanese version now displays day of year in initial time
display in proper Japanese format.
Slip2008_02_11_01_39
- The feature to display all templates including those in
hidden categories now leave the override flag set on exit for consistency with
the way Tap&Hold on the template button works.
Slip2008_02_18_13_40
- The LaunchApp feature on the NEW button has
included ToDo's (from integrated mode) but due to a change, was no longer
compatible with DayNoteZ. The record number has been "adjusted" in this
slipstream and should now be compatible with DayNoteZ (Todo's selected in
split-screen are not seen by this feature - only those selected in
integrated mode).
- Fixes reset that occurs in German version when switching to
History Database in the Today View.
Slip2008_02_19_14_21
- Fixed menu item for security in German Version to use 'S'
instead of 'H' for consistency.
- Change up/down/2arrow button in WeeklyView with Text to use
a symbol instead of a bitmap (nicer on high-resolution screens).
Slip2008_02_20_17_08
- Reverses the legends: Advance 1 Week and Set 1
Week Later in the popup lists so the functions are more consistent with
other similarly labeled functions (Advance 1 Week advances 1 week from
the item's current date, Set 1 Week Later now reads: 1 Week
from Today to avoid confusion).
Slip2008_02_24_13_08
- The stripping of the special meta-tags <ForceDetails>, <ForceInsert>,<FixedTime>,<ForceReminder>
in templates were causing problems when combined with tags or links, so this
slipstream now only strips these tags if they are the first item in the
note field and there is no link nor special tag set.
Slip2008_02_25_17_32
- Fixes a few other obscure issues with the meta-tags: (1)
when <LogAll> is used, the title now changes to reflect the contact being
logged to (before you had to punch OK each time without knowing which contact
it was referring to), (2) the end time is no longer logged when Now
is selected in the log dialog and the current time is properly logged).
Slip2008_03_06_17_32
- When selecting the option to avoid transparent graphics
(only really needed on buggy Sony Clie's that crash on transparent graphics),
the moon phase plug-in in the Today View is now usable and only the icon
display is suppressed - this also corrects an issue with some plug-ins getting
"lost" when this option was selected.
Slip2008_04_01_12_35
- The floating update routine is now called on launch when
starting up with a screen other than the day view. Without this change,
timezone adjustments on new items synced from the desktop were not being made
until after moving to a different week, etc.
Slip2008_04_12_11_21
- Under some conditions, the Reply button in the
Meeting Details dialog was sending the email to all recipients as if Reply
All had been pressed - this has now been corrected.
- Ensures that the Next Alarm field in the Today view
is updated whenever the Today view was displaying and the device was powered
on with the power-on button.
Slip2008_04_17_12_22
- Fixes problem on startup with MemCk: 0 error
message, if the Tasks database is completely empty and the preference
option is set to sync repeat/alarm information with the Tasks database.
Slip2008_04_29_11_52
- On a floating update where categories are being updated in
the calendar database, now ensures that dirty flag does not get set when
record is updated (will speed up fast sync, but make no difference on slow
sync).
Slip2008_05_22_11_06
- This corrects a sporadic problem on some devices whereby if
a new item is set on the desktop that would be the next alarm to come up and
the device is hotsynced before that alarm, DateBk6 would not see the alarm and
the built-in calendar application's alarm would go off instead.
Slip2008_07_04_11_29
- Corrects a problem whereby under some conditions, changing
the due date of a repeat ToDo would not cause a proper update to the weekly or
monthly repeat specifications (example: moving a weekly repeat on Tuesday to
Wednesday was not updating the weekly repeat to repeat on Wednesday).
Slip2008_08_29_18_15
- Fixes issue of setting an advance alarm of 0 days in the
Birthday details dialog and not having that remembered.
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.1a, r6
New Features in this Release:
- Pressing space bar or graffiting space character stroke in
the Icon selection dialog now pops up the quick selection list (previously
there was no way to popup this list with a keyboard-only device).
- Adds new meta-tag for the costing feature (goes in note
field of event) in the All Items to Memopad feature: <CustomCost:
14.50> - this tag provides a substitute value for the Cost per hour
default value just for this one item - so in this example, the cost of this
item would be computed at $14.50/hour rather than the default value specified
in the export options dialog. The difference between the default value and the
custom cost value is shown in the exported data. This tag could be used to
handle special rates (such as a higher weekend or after-hours rate for work).
- Now allows the <Add$: xx.xx> Meta-tag to have negative
values (so you could for example, provide a fixed discount value for a service
call).
- Adds preference option in More(3) Adv. Settings to
cover the case of changing the font to the standard font of appointments or
ToDO's marked as done (prior behavior now requires that this preference option
be set).
- Displays end of line icon for appointments that have a
meeting assigned to them. Tap on the icon to bring up the meeting dialog
directly without going into the Details dialog. There may still be an issue of
automatically launching the email application when using the Reply feature,
and there are conduit issues unrelated to the use of Datebk whereby
appointments that are modified that have attached meetings can end up making
the user the "owner" of the meeting.
New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- Fixes problem of icons not always being displayed in the
Today view because they were drawn in the current alternating background color
(if Alternate color is selected on a grayscale Palm device).
- Ensures that the preference option that prevents hiding of
the Unfiled Category (which is set by default) also applies to the
quick category selection list that appears when a Tap&Hold is detected on the
GO button.
- Fixes problem of adjusting the start date of a repeat event
not properly setting new start date (a new issue only in recent slipstreams).
- Avoids losing track in ToDo list operating in integrated
mode when rescheduling an item to a new day and the option to always display
new day/category is not selected: insertion pointer is moved to the adjacent
ToDo (below by default).
- Fixes very obscure cosmetic issue in Today View: if you use
select on a plug-in then move the selection bar to the top and off the screen
and then press rocker-right, you would end up on a screwy date.
Slip2007_10_23_20_02
- Fixes problem of losing Location field in Today view when
there are events, birthdays or anniversaries that might sort ahead of the
first appointment.
- Fixes reset problem caused by setting option to synchronize
Tasks, then deleting the entire Tasks Database with a third party file
utility, and then running DateBk6 prior to running the built-in tasks
application.
Slip2007_10_27_11_06
- Fixes problem of not resetting the popup list order
(Details/Link/Note/Location) when a record is moved to a future date, and the
popup list feature (center-select/Enter) is then immediately invoked on the
following record.
Slip2007_11_04_13_021
- Fixes problem with Toggle Completion in the list
view when operating on a repeat event that does not have the same date as the
top item on the screen. Under those conditions, the exception was made, but
the wrong date was being applied to the exception.
Slip2007_11_05_10_10
- Fixes menu problem in prior slipstream
(DateBk6-resources.prc file was bad).
- Changed date format in English version for start of repeat
in Details dialog to use short date format as the long date format in some
cases was too long and overwriting the left edge of the button with the
musical note that plays the custom alarm sound.
Slip2007_11_06_10_37
- Fixes new problem in Slip2007_10_27_11_06
- if you press the center select button on a ToDo that is the very first
ToDo in the database, a spurious Index Out Of Range error can occur.
Slip2007_11_12_16_47
- Adjusting the start date of an event that spans midnight
now results in the entire event being properly moved forwards or backwards as
a unit (previously, the start date was not maintained properly).
- Adjustments to the end date will now be made on events
being moved backwards as well as forwards (this was intentionally restricted
in prior releases - although I cannot at this point determine why that
restriction existed and have therefore removed it).
- Fixes problem of a Tap&Hold to right of checkbox on a ToDo
in split-screen when priorities are hidden, not popping up the urgency list as
it does in integrated mode.
Slip2007_11_19_23_59
- Adds option in More(3) Adv. Settings to
automatically close the database after a few seconds of inactivity (should
help with VersaMail wireless sync etc.).
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.1a, r5
New Features in this Release: (none)
New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- Option in More(2) Adv. Settings of Search
Name/Company flds only now properly includes the first name
field in the search (previously only the last name and company name fields
were searched).
- Fixes legend in Category profile from Hide Floats &
Undated ToDo's to Show Floats & Undated ToDo's...Only On...
- Fixes reset problem on Handera 330 in list view if small
font is selected and monochrome icons are being displayed, and there is an
appointment or ToDo that has a non-existent icon assigned to it.
- Fixes reset problem on Handera 330 when accessing the
category profile dialog due to Palm OS anomaly
- Fixes spacing problem between date and time in list view on
certain combination of preference options where the spacing was rather tight.
- Fixes issue of new appointment in second weekly view with
text not immediately causing screen to be redrawn to display the new
appointment.
Slip2007_09_22_13_38
- Avoids Index Out of Range error in Today View in the
rather unlikely event that you select the line saying (No ToDo's Due Today)
and then use the menu option to toggle the completion status.
- Fixes problem of setting an alarm on an item, changing or
adding the description but never removing the insert pointer from the item to
the time the alarm would go off (Alarm would show no description, or
description prior to changes).
- Fixes occasional problem of crossing off a floating event
and not having insert pointer move down to the event below it (possible this
problem may have also caused a Chunk Underlock error under certain
circumstances).
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.1a, r4
New Features in this Release:
- Adds new preference option in APPTS panel of main
preferences for sorting appointments by descending end time rather than
default of ascending sort time (Standard Palm OS Datebook does the latter,
PalmOne proprietary Calendar app does the former). Also sets this preference
option on a clean install to match the built-in Datebook/Calendar
application's method of sorting.
- 4Cast Plugin zip file now includes a Discount Coupon for
DateBk6 users who purchase the 4Cast application from ShSh software.
New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- Includes workaround for the Palm OS refresh bug on Palm
TX's only whereby a refresh event is sent to the wrong window by the Palm OS
resulting in a background window refreshing itself (this was noted in R3 in
the Today View when moving from the View Display Options to the selection
options dialog) .
Slip2007_09_01_12_15
- When using a keyed-in letter to match on the first
character in the template list (to quickly locate templates), DateBk6 now
skips over the [x] for ToDo's.
- Fixes sporadic problem of the popup list in More(2) Adv.
Settings not being dismissed when a tap is made outside of the popup list.
Slip2007_09_02_16_44
- Fixes problem of Delete command in Day View sometimes
causing graffiti shift indicator to slide over a few pixels and erase left
part of the up/down buttons (this fixes the issue when Delete Confirmation is
turned on - prior fix in R2 for same issue did not address this one case).
Slip2007_09_03_12_39
- Fixes problem of Tap&Hold on icon area of a ToDo while a
new ToDo is being created sometimes resulting in a redraw anomaly where the
wrong ToDo is displayed until the insert pointer leaves that row.
Slip2007_09_03_15_34
- Adds new workaround for Palm OS bug (on TX devices only
when using the feature of hiding the status bar, Palm OS sends the refresh
event to the wrong window) in Today View Options Selections dialog
since the std. workaround would require that all plug-ins include that code
(which is not practical) - this fix prevents the plug-ins preference dialog
from being overwritten by a refresh of the Today View.
Slip2007_09_04_21_16
- If an item is private and private items are masked and
locations are being displayed in the Today view, and the item has no location
field, DateBk6 now properly avoids displaying the Private: Not Displayed
legend for the location line.
Slip2007_09_05_17_20
- Fixes problem of ToDo icon covering part of the digit for
an advance on a ToDo in the Today View when a ToDo also had a priority and
urgency displayed and the system time format was set to a 24-hour clock.
- Using center select button of 5-way in Today View on a
private item which is masked will now popup the security dialog to allow
access in the same manner as tapping on the item.
Slip2007_09_07_18_59
- Fixes problem of not recognizing ShadowPlan tags (for the
purpose of suppressing the note icon if the note only contains a ShadowPlan
tag and the preference was set in More(2) Adv. Settings if the
tag started with leading spaces).
Slip2007_09_09_13_25
- Fixes problem of changing the end date of a repeat
occurrence to a date prior to the currently selected occurrence - under
some circumstances, the date was advanced to the following occurrence (the
built-in calendar application has always had a bug in that it always sets the
date to No End Date in this same scenario).
Slip2007_09_11_02_01
- Fixes problem of changing the due date of a Repeat ToDo not
also adjusting the repeat end date if there was an explicit end date.
Slip2007_09_11_09_26
- Now forces certain preferences only relevant for PalmOne
devices to be turned off on non-PalmOne devices - avoids some potentially
obscure issues when another application has overwritten and corrupted DateBk's
preference record.
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.1a, r3
New Features in this Release: (none)
New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- Fixes obscure problem of using background colors for
categories in split-screen display of contacts database, and when scrolling
through records that have no data at all other than just the first and last
name fields (background color was not getting reset properly).
- Fixes problem of losing an alarm if you invoke the history
database via a Saved View and the alarm was scheduled to go off at a time
before you exited out of the saved view.
- Changes the background in the Today view to no color and
displays the legend History Database! instead of the next alarm
as a clear reminder to people that they are in the history database.
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.1a, r2
New Features in this Release:
- Adds 45 minute option to the snooze list in the alarm
dialog.
New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- Fixes issue of going into the icon selection dialog and on
some occasions finding that using Up on the 5-way navigator
leaves the OK button highlighted and the top icon selected (as opposed to
clearing the highlighting on the OK button and moving to the bottom left
icon).
- Fixes problem of Delete command in Day View sometimes
causing graffiti shift indicator to slide over a few pixels and erase left
part of the up/down buttons.
- Fixed issue that colored digits in the year/4-month view
were still being drawn with a light-gray background even though the shade
preference had been set to use some other color for the shading besides the
default.
- Ensures that in the weekly and other views, if there are
more than 200 ToDo's on any day which were all being displayed, appointments
will always appear because they are now scanned first (prior versions would
not display any appointments on a day after 200 items, and repeat events would
not display on any future days either).
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.1a, r1
New Features in this Release: (none)
New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- If the calendar database is completely missing (very
unlikely of course!), DateBk6 now sets up the correct version information when
creating the database (previously an Invalid Version error would get
generated if the built-in calendar app attempted to read a database created by
DateBk6.
- On Startup, DateBk6 no longer sorts the appointment and
ToDo databases unless the databases have definitely been modified since last
exiting DateBk6 (even when the option is set to sort the databases). This will
speed up the program launch for some users who have other third party apps
modifying the standard PIM databases.
- Fixes problem of graffiti shift indicator getting moved
after using the Delete Function in the Day View (was overwriting part of the
up/down buttons).
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.1a, pM
New Features in this Release: (none)
New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- For Clipboard Copy/Paste, DateBk6 now only uses its
internal clipboard (which has unlimited capacity) if you attempt to copy more
than 1,000 characters (the Palm OS clipboard limit). Otherwise it will always
use the standard Palm OS Clipboard - this provides just slightly better
compatibility and expected behaviour.
- Fixes several cases (mostly unreported) where the repeat or
alarm specification on a ToDo could get unexpectedly lost upon exiting and
re-launching DateBk6.
- Fixed a couple of obscure issues in Today View if the
setting Up to 4 weeks was used.
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.1a, pL
New Features in this Release: (none)
New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- Fixes issue of losing custom alarm sound in Daily Journal
Template.
- Includes optimized handling of alarm scanning with some new
algorithms (improves performance where the next alarm sound has to be found).
- Allows reminders and <ScheduleIn> items to have a duration
that is then propagated to the created event.
- <ScheduleIn -HH:MM> now treats minutes as negative value if
hours were negative (previously, a minus sign was needed on both hours and
minutes).
- Fixes problem of the CurrentViewDate preference
which remembers the date for the circular arrow startup view option being
treated as both a local and global preference (it should only be global) -
this might result in some weird dates appearing when the view was invoked).
- Fixes problem on TX with DIA hidden and calling Alarm
Manager dialog from Today View or Day View (screen was not redrawn properly
because Palm OS sent a refresh event to the wrong window).
Slip2007_06_30_16_53
- Avoids potential (but very obscure) reset in Graphical
Weekly View with items that have no descriptions. Also fixed a similarly
obscure issue in the list view and Today View (neither item has been reported as it is rare
to have a note field but no description).
Slip2007_07_02_17_07
- Now recognizes the letter 'g' in the Today View as a
request to go to the Day View with the currently selected item selected in
that view (same as if you did a Tap&Hold with a stylus).
- Fixes problem of synchronizing old style interval repeat on
ToDo's to Tasks database (such repeats would get lost under some conditions).
Slip2007_07_05_11_37
- Fixes reset that occurs if you use Record-Menu/Copy
in the day view to copy a ToDo displayed in Split-Screen mode (new side effect
related to the recent fix in pH preview to pick up all pending changes).
- Ensures the 4/6month view and Yearly views now use the same
algorithm for picking the darkest of the Foreground or background color to
color the current day .
Slip2007_07_11_19_11
- Now avoids displaying warning message about alarms if
DateBk6 is not handling alarms, timezones are enabled, but the
preference is set to Sync TimeZone Information (as the built-in app will then
sound alarms at the correct time).
- Displays the Sorting..... message now in the same
position and font as the Scanning.... message for consistency.
- Includes workaround for the display issue when exiting from
color palette selection on TX devices that have the known "refresh bug" (Palm
OS sends the refresh event to the wrong window).
- Fixes problem of checkbox in details sub-view of second
weekly view not being properly erased when a ToDo was being toggled on and off
(and completed ToDo's were being displayed).
- Fixes potential problem of generating a 514
DmQueryFailed error when marking the last ToDo as completed (or not
completed if completed ToDo's are being displayed) in the Day View (new issue
introduced in pj preview).

New Features in this Release:
- Changes line feeds to spaces in the description when
displaying popup list in Graphical weekly, monthly, 4/6 monthly and yearly
views so all the text can be read. Also does this in the Today view which
previously only showed the first line.
New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- Fixes problem of losing space in ToDo list in SplitScreen
and integrated mode when going into ToDo details dialog and changing the date
there.
- Fixes several obscure issues related to TimeZones when
synchronizing with the Palm calendar including Creating new events not obeying
Create Time Zone preference and not handling alternate locales
properly. Also now only complains one time about a missing DST rule, until
program is relaunched or another missing rule is found.
Slip2007_06_16_11_58
- Fixes version number to properly display PJ as it
was still displaying PI as the version.

the Today View if the person taps the gray down-arrow or presses the letter
'T' and they have not created this saved view.
Slip2007_06_16_12_16

events (only if completed events are being hidden)>
Slip2007_06_17_13_05
- Fixes issue of losing repeat on ToDo under some
circumstances when synchronizing repeat/alarm info (More(3) Adv. Settings).
- Fixes issue of alarm setting not always properly being
propagated to Tasks Database when option to Synchronize repeat/Alarm Info is
set.
- Fixes new issue of getting a Null Handle error if
creating a new ToDo when the Day View had never been used (such as having a
different startup view or using an applet to launch DateBk6.

weird errors.
Slip2007_06_12_16_14

integrated mode (both brief & Tap&Hold) were causing unexpected reset with
Index Out Of Range Error.
Slip2007_06_13_12_24
- Another fix for same issue above if there was no ToDo or
appt below the item being tapped.
- Now allows Shift/Period in day view (both at same time) to
popup the Date Reschedule list for selected ToDo (in either Split-Screen or
integrated mode). Also now allows selection within that list using 5-way.

inappropriate string resource that conflicted with one in Datebk6.

New Features in this Release:
- Adds Find/Highlight Text function to Options Menu for memos and attached
notes in appointments, ToDo's or contacts. Replaces Restore.. button
with Find... button (Restore is now a menu option under
OPTIONS menu). Brief Tap on button will resume search throughout
text if there are more matches. A Tap&Hold will always bring up the find
dialog to enter a new text string. Shift-Period (pressed at the same
time) on Treo devices will perform the same function a brief tap on the Find
button.
- Adds new option to split-screen menu: Top/Bottom Of List:
if the list is currently displaying the first page, it moves to display the
last page of the split-screen list, otherwise it displays the first page. This
can also be used to shift the focus to the split-screen for devices that do
not have a Treo-Style center button to shift the focus.
- Adds new note field meta-tag: with the form: <FixedTime>
in the note field of a template. When used, this will always insert the
template at the template's fixed time, regardless of whether or not a time
slot was selected at the time the template was inserted.
- Adds three new meta-tags for note field for templates: <ForceInsert>,
<ForceDetails> and <ForceReminder>. These meta-tags will override whatever
pushbutton was selected when the template was selected. For example, a
Reminder type template can now have <ForceReminder> so it will always bring up
the duration dialog regardless of which pushbutton was selected. <ForceInsert>
can be used in a view other than the DayView to always insert a template using
the default time of that template (Normally, the details dialog would appear
if the view is not the Day View).
- If the Display Find on Addr Button option is set
(Split Tab of main preference panel), then the Find Dialog now also appears
when Call/Action is selected and no line is selected in SplitScreen
(assumption is that if you set this option, you generally want to use the
Search function to figure out what to link to.
- Allows negative numbers now in the <ScheduleIn xx> meta-tag
(for time travelers?).
New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- Fixes error in maintaining position in Split-Screen Todo
list when advancing an item to a new day using a rescheduling option from the
Tap&Hold popup list.
- Fixes problem of repeat ToDo arrows being displayed in the
wrong position when marking item as done using popup list.
- The last fix reported under p0 about missing a dot in the
yearly view when the day only had events with color, now is also fixed
in the 4/6 month view as well.
- Copy Command on item in Day View table now picks up any
editing changes that are pending - thereby matching behaviour in V-6.1.
Slip2007_06_09_20_21
- Fixed several redraw problems in left-handed, landscape
mode when bring up About, location and Date Picker dialogs. Also fixed redraw
issues in the monthly view (right hand of screen was not redrawing) and
missing buttons on the top line in the second weekly view with text)
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.1a, pg
New Features in this Release:
- Adds new note field meta-tag: with the form: <ScheduleIn xxx>
or <ScheduleIn xx:yy> which is intended for use in templates. When a
template is selected that has this tag in the note field, the item is inserted
at the current time plus the offset in this meta-tag which is either
expressed in minutes (if one number), or in hours and minutes (if two numbers
separated by a colon, period or other non-space/non-digit). This is a
convenient way to quickly insert a reminder for a fixed number of minutes from
now. For example, I have a reminder now labeled Spaghetti Done!
with the meta-tag <ScheduleIn 7> and an alarm set as I like to cook the spaghetti for exactly
seven minutes! Also useful for 1hr/2hr parking meters, etc.
- Adds ability to mark regular appointments as done in the
Today view with the Option-Option-Backspace Shortcut (previously this only
applied to Floats and ToDos), and also adds a menu item for marking items as
done in the Record Menu in that view.
New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- Now retains position in split-screen ToDo list when
rescheduling ToDo's with brief Tap to left of checkbox or by going into
Details dialog. Also retains position in integrated mode if ToDo is
rescheduled using Tap&Hold or tap to left of Checkbox and using re-date options in that list.
- Includes workaround for potential Palm OS redraw bug in
TimeZone dialog, when option to hide status bar was enabled.
- Location field dialog now allows creation and editing of
location fields up to 255 characters long (to match Outlook) - prior limit was
80 characters.
- Avoids erasing the end of line icons when a line has a lot
of consecutive spaces at the end of the first line and it is being redrawn
(i.e. was being colored, etc.).
- Fixes a few obscure issues related to the use of
split-screen which could possibly cause some resets under some end conditions
(although there is no record of any of these ever having been reported).
Slip2007_06_04_11_58

New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- Fixes problem in timezone handling whereby some improperly
formatted TimeZone Blobs were causing an error message about a missing DST
rule in DateBk6 (null timezone BLOBs have been found, but with a valid name
field - the name field should have been nulled out by Palm's software).
- Fixes problem in ToDo Sort whereby the Undated sort
criteria was causing the sort to end at that point if both items were dated
(new issue just in pD).
- Changes text of menu item in Today View to New From

present and option to detect ShadowPlan notes is set in More (2) Adv. Settings.
- Removes the Up-Down arrows in the list box in the ToDo
Sort/Hide panel for those attributes that do not have any intrinsic sort (i.e.
past-due, due soon, etc.)
- Fixes very obscure bug that has always been in DateBk
related to scrolling the day table up or down when Scroll Time Then Day

potential to cause a reset, although I don't recall anyone ever reporting this
issue).

feature when synchronizing timezone information with Palm Calendar (caused
screwy timezone to appear and/or unexpected BLOB errors).
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.1a, pd
New Features in this Release:
- In graphical weekly view, now displays a solid line at noon
- makes it easier to separate out morning and afternoon appointments.
- Adds feature to display text of ToDo's in monthly view. The
Appt and ToDo pushbuttons are now shown and
allow both appts and ToDo's to be displayed. If both Appointments and ToDo's are
being displayed, then ToDo's are preceded with a small
black square so they can be distinguished from appointments. ToDo's are
displayed before appointments in this view if both are being displayed.
New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- Changes the default setting of handling timezones so the
option is now Sync. TimeZone Info In Calendar and by default it is not
selected (too many users had timezone information they were not aware of or
old timezone information and got confused by having to address that issue).
- Automatically removes corrupt BLOBs on converting from a
version of DateBk prior to V-6.1 since many users appear to have corrupt BLOBs
in their databases.
- Now treats the Palm Timezone information as not having a
DST rule if the start date of the DST rule is equal to the end date (properly
written apps should have handled this differently, but this bug seems to be
relatively prevalent).
- Properly restores the Dated criteria in ToDo sorting
so that whenever it appears in the sort hierarchy, items are at that point
sorted by date (a change made in p0 lost that ability).
- Properly hides the Ascending and Descending
pushbuttons in the ToDO Sort/Hide dialog when the Past-Due, Due Today, Due
Soon and Not Due Yet criteria are selected as there is no intrinsic
sort associated with these criteria.
- Previously ToDo Sorting was treating an Undated Item as
being Due Today when comparing types - it now is treated purely as an undated
item.
- Fixes a ToDo Sort issue that prevented the Undated Criteria
from being freely mixed with the Past-Due, Due Today... criteria.
- Fixes several navigation issues using the 5-way navigator
up/down in various dialogs. Note: not all navigation issues can
be addressed with the 5-way, but the more obvious issues have been addressed
in 6.1, notably:
- The shade and highlight options in the Views tab of the
main preference panel were not selectable with the 5-way navigator.
- Alarm Preferences dialog navigation
- More (2) Advanced Settings,
whereby the selection order list controls were not hidden when the 5-way moved
off that set of controls.
- Appointment and ToDo details dialogs navigation
- Purge dialog navigation
- Monthly View Display Options navigation
- Year View Display Options navigation
- List View Display Options (icons would not redraw due to
conflict with navigator focus ring).
- Date Picker dialog navigation

New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- Fixes problem of complaining about a ToDo alarm being in
the past when exiting the ToDo dialog when in fact the ToDo had just
been marked as completed in the ToDo details dialog.
- Fixes problem of ToDo priority not appearing in list view
on Sony High resolution devices when small or tiny font is selected.
- Fixes problem of drop-down list in More Preferences
not being cleared when 5-way navigator is used to leave the list and up-down
buttons.
- Fixes issue whereby if More button is used in main
preference dialog and the popup list is dismissed by tapping outside of the
list, or by using the 5-way to navigate away from it, when it is invoked a
second time (without switching preference dialogs), nothing is selected in the
list and the 5-way cannot be used to select an item.
- Fixes a number of minor navigation issues in some dialogs.
- Fixes issue of insert pointer not displayed in location
dialog on first entry on devices that do not have a 5-way navigator.
- Fixes issue of pending change to Location field in the
Details dialog not being properly preserved across a call to the repeat

New Features in this Release:
- DateBk6 now detects changes to the calendar and Tasks
databases made outside of DateBk6 and optimizes the sort and global
find accordingly (previously, only changes due to hotsync were detected)
New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- Fixes new issue in p8 caused by modification for drawing
colored text - p8 would cause description fields to get rewritten in the wrong
place, and could also cause the text to disappear.
- Ensures correct record is picked up on global find even
though database has to be re-sorted before the record is retrieved
(modifications to the database by other third party apps that changed the sort
order were causing the global find to sometimes pick up the wrong record if
DateBk was not running at the time).

New Features in this Release:
- Left on the 5-way navigator in the Today View
now goes to yesterday in the day view (previously this did nothing - seems
like a useful function, since Right goes to today in the Day
View).
New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- Fixes problem of Save As Template not picking up any
editing changes made since insert pointer was last placed in the description.
- Fixes issue of the single + sign set in the description of
an <NK> type floating item causing the bold type for the description field to
be lost (actually, if you have {space}+{space} in the description that will
also terminate the bold text anyway).
- Fixes issue of displaying Meeting Attendee icon in the
Details dialog when the meeting has no attendees which appears in some cases
on untimed events (not clear why these empty BLOBs are being generated -
perhaps a bug in the conduit?).
- Fixes several redraw issues related to the feature of
hiding the status bar (notably calling up template, date dialogs in day and
list views when status bar hidden).
- Fixes problem of not properly redrawing colored text in
edit mode when lines are being created/removed in the Day table.

New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- Fixes problem of Delete button in anniversary details
screen not deleting an anniversary.
- Fixes problem of Backspace in Anniversary/Birthday details
screen exiting dialog when in fact it was being used to delete characters in

- Includes check for birthday/anniversary items in the list
view's Multiple menu functions and ignores them as otherwise, they
generate a DmQueryFailed error and a reset (this was an unreported bug
since earliest versions of DateBk6).
- The Silence Until feature now no longer silences
repetitions of an unacknowledged alarm that occur after the silence period is
over (previously if the first alarm was within the silent period, all
subsequent reminders would be silent too, regardless).
- Hides a few options in the More(2) and More(3)
Advanced Settings dialogs for devices that have the traditional Palm OS
PIM databases as those options are only relevant on newer PalmOne devices with
the proprietary PIM apps.
- Fixes problem of getting a No AddressDB Alert in the

New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- Fixes Mem Handle problem when converting an event to a ToDo
when ToDO's are being displayed in the main table.
- The error message about a missing DST rule in World
TimeZones now displays the actual missing rule in the WDMM-WDMM format of the
rule in World Timezones (W = week of month, D = Day of Week, MM = month for
the start of DST and the end of DST).
- Fixes problem of program not performing certain functions
on a newly-created item, if the item was created by just typing in the
description and the function was invoked before the insert pointer was
ever removed from the item.
- Includes new V-2.2b of dbSetup6 which has the old as well as
the new timezone rules for the US because Palm's software stores rules in the
appointments (not smart!) and so both old and new rules are likely to be present in
the database.
- Fixes problem in handling anniversary field caused by
presence of Junk Blobs in conjunction with a bug in Palm's code that handles
contacts records (Reminder field not being updated properly, having weird
values, causing contacts app to crash after updating, etc.).
- Fixed problem in day details of second weekly view when

New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- Fixes DmWriteCheck error that occurs when timezones are

also has a meeting attendees list (occurred when exiting the Details dialog).
- Ensures the Target Icon drawn in the Today view when
locations are being displayed is taken from DateBk6's icon resource
only (avoids potential clash if user has an icon collection with an icon
sharing the same resource ID).
- Fixes problem on anniversaries whereby the alarm icon was
sometimes not being drawn at the end of the line in the Day View.
- Ensured that the Avoid Category Tag preference
option is cleared when upgrading from V-6.0 to V-6.1.
- Fixed several issues related to the use of the T3 Slider
and the split-screen display and the weekly/monthly/yearly/list displays which
were not redrawing properly. Also fixed issue of not displaying additional
lines in split-screen when Status Bar was hidden.
- Fixed problem of anniversaries sometimes displaying junk

to avoid duplicate snooze alarms.
- Includes updated V-2.2a of dbSetup6 which has the help tips
for the new dialogs and some of the new preference options.
- On upgrading from 6.0 to 6.1, now resets the new preference
settings (for 6.1) to the proper defaults (avoids corruption issues that were
causing things like the spurious No Tasks DB?! error, etc.).

New Features in this Release:
- You can now optionally hide the status bar (See More(2)
Adv. Settings) on newer PalmOne devices or other devices that support the
standard Palm OS API for hiding the status bar. This gains one or two lines of
additional display in most views. Tap within a couple of pixels of the bottom
of the status bar to toggle its display.
- Now supports Anniversaries in the latest version of the
PalmOne Contacts Database and provides separate preferences for icon, font and
color.
- Now supports display of Location field in Today View (you
can set for 1, 2 or all lines to also display the location field on the line
below).
- Alarms are now handled by the smaller DateBk6-resources.prc
file which allows you to put the main DateBk6.prc file on an external memory
card and still have DateBk6 handle alarms.
- Changes Type of DateBk6-resources program so it's
visible in the Palm menus (but not in the launch screen), so it can be
explicitly beamed and deleted (previously it was completely hidden).
- Adds advanced option (See More(3) Adv. Settings) to
avoid generating a DateBk6 style category tag if that is the only special
attribute for an appointment - may be appropriate for some users with newer
PalmOne devices that handle categories.
- Now displays all the MEETING information set by the Outlook
Conduit (in Details Dialog).
- Provides compatibility between the way Palm's proprietary
Calendar app handles timezones and how DateBk6 handles timezones. Changes made
in either app, or on the desktop, are now properly reflected in all three
places. There is an option to avoid this compatibility (See More(3)
Adv. Settings) - by default, DateBk6 will provide this compatibility.
- Provides an option for compatibility between the way Palm's
proprietary Tasks app handles repeats and alarms and how DateBk6 handles
repeats and alarms. Changes made in either app, or on the desktop, are now
properly reflected in all three places. This preference option is not
set by default (See More(3) Adv. Settings).
- Now displays age/anniversary now in the Day Details view of
the second weekly view with text.
- Adds 20 minute option for snooze interval (it takes me
exactly 20 minutes to get to town from my house, so I added this one <g>).
New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- Fixes problem of beaming a repeat appointment with a weekly
repeat from a transmitting device that has Monday set as the start of the week
to another device that also has Monday set - under some conditions the wrong
starting date for the repeat could be picked (this bug has always been present
in the built-in Palm OS calendar application).
- When leaving the Details dialog from the day sub-view in
the second weekly view with text, DateBk6 now returns to the day sub-view (as
DateBk5 did) rather than refreshing the main weekly view.
- When setting a new date/time on multiple items and changing
a timed event to an untimed event, DateBk6 now properly sets the end time as
well as the start time to the "NoTime" value (dbScan was reporting a benign
error on such events).
- Fixes problem of tracking icons by resource ID and then
using an icon for a saved view which has a resource ID greater than the number
of icons in the database.
- Fixes problem of ToDo database not being re-sorted after
the completion status of an item has been toggled (which can result in it
moving to a new position in the database).
- Fixes problem of changing the DONE Status of a repeat ToDo
in the Details dialog while simultaneously changing the repeat specification -
the regeneration of the repeat ToDo was using the original repeat
specification and not the pending change to the repeat specification.
- The option in More Adv. Settings to suppress the note
icon if it only contains a ShadowPlan note now tests that the note starts
with [[[ (as well as ends in ]]]).
- If an undated ToDo is saved as a template, when inserted,
it will now remain an undated ToDo (provided that undated ToDo's are being
displayed, and the REMIND button was not used in the template dialog).
Previously, if inserted on a day other than today, an undated Todo would
assume that date (the ToDo for the template would now need to be dated for
this behavior). Note that inserting an undated ToDo under these conditions
will not necessarily result in the ToDo being visible as it would only be
displayed in today's schedule.
- Provides workaround for Attention Manager flaw whereby its
reminders (the blink star or bell at top left) were not being displayed in a
couple of DateBk6's views (notably Today View).
- Fixed obscure bug in List View with birthdays from the
Contacts database associated with birthdays on leap years being incorrectly
displayed on non-leap years.
- Fixes reset that can occur if the Today View is displayed
in DateBk6 and an item is then beamed to DateBk from another device or PC.
- Fixes obscure issue if an alarm triggers, the alarm is
dismissed, and the Last Alarm button is tapped, all in less than five seconds
(generated a spurious, but harmless error message about alarms not being
properly scheduled in the Palm OS).
- Logic for handling repeat saved views was changed so that
if the program exits out of a repeat saved view that is no longer in effect,
DateBk6 will continue scanning the saved view database in case there is a
subsequent saved-view following that would get invoked at that time.
- Coordinated strategies for displaying digit of month in the
monthly and yearly views - previously monthly view would pick the darkest of
the foreground or background color, while the yearly view was always picking
the foreground color unless that matched the form color (in which case it
chose the background color). The monthly view's strategy seemed the better
one.
- Changes logic for rescheduling snooze alarms by dropping
threshold from 30 seconds to 1 second - previously, any snoozed alarm less
than 30 seconds in the future was dropped.
- Changes the way the Dated criteria is used in the
ToDo Sort Hierarchy. Previously, it sorted items by date and would only
proceed through the hierarchy if the items had the same date. Now, it always
proceeds through the hierarchy if both items have a date - this makes it
possible, for example, to have an order like Due Today, Due Soon, Not Due
Yet, Past-Due. Previously, this would not have been possible as the
Dated criteria would have sorted Past-due items ahead of the others.
- If there are 2 or more items on a day and the only items on
that day are colored and in a font other than the standard font,
DateBk6 was not displaying a dot to indicate there was something other than
the appointment that colored the day cell on that day. It now draws a dot
under these circumstances.
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.0a, s5
New Features in this Release:
New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- Fixes problem in Today View in German version of DateBk6
that could result in a reset on occasion.
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.0a, s4
New Features in this Release:
- Adds support for dialing phone number in contacts record
when a linked record is brought up in the List View.
- German and Japanese versions now released.
- If Enable Buttons In Alarm Dialog is checked, you
can now use the third hardware button (counting from the left) to
immediately silence the sound and special affects (i.e. turn off vibration/LED
flashing). Previously there was no way to stop the vibration/LED Flashing.
New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- Fixes cosmetic display issue in 2nd weekly view whereby 2
pixel rows on top of the bottom row view buttons was not being cleared
properly (most noticeable when the shade feature was used and when switching
sub-views).
- Fixes problem of navigation mode in list view not accessing
the New Button.
- Fixes new problem introduced in S3 whereby the repeat
counts displayed when tapping the repeat icon in the Day View were showing
incorrect values.
- When switching Databases in split-screen mode, if the
split-screen was closed, it could take two presses to open the screen - a side
effect of a recent change made to maintain the current status of the
split-screen when switching databases (but clearly if the screen was closed,
that state should not be maintained!).
- The Preference setting to hide past-due ToDo's (by setting
the HIDE attribute for Past-Due) is now honored in split-screen mode
(previously it was only honored in integrated mode).
- If you apply a custom sort to the ToDo database, DateBk6
will now re-sort the database as part of the daily housekeeping (since a
custom sort can mean that Todo's change order at midnight due to different
treatment of due/past-due/due soon etc.).
- Ensures that alarm notification sent to Treo Butler is
suppressed for the Floating Advance Time roll-over.
Slip2007_01_02_13_04
- Fixes problem of using popup list commands that change date
on repeat events (Advance 1 day was ok, but the others were not handling
repeat events properly).
Slip2007_01_06_19_09
- Fixes problem of a non-default shade color for days not
being handled properly in Monthly View when selecting individual days (shaded
days were not being highlighted properly).
Slip2007_01_09_13_17
- Fixes problem in Japanese version of reset if moving from
Day View to Graphical Weekly View with preferences and date set in such a way
that the week displayed straddles the turn of the year.
- Fixes problem on Treo Smartphones whereby the upper-case
shift status is lost when creating a new Daily Journal (Palm OS navigation
routine bug).
Slip2007_01_23_11_38
- Adds feature in DateBk6 that allows plug-ins in the Today
View to now always return to the Today View when the plug-in line is tapped
(previously, plug-ins were only able to relaunch DateBk6 which might not have
the Today view as the startup view).
- Adds preference in More Adv. Settings to suppress
the display of the note icon in the day and List views for ToDo's that only
have a ShadowPlan Tag in the note field (specifically: a note ending in ]]]).
- Fixes problem of setting a link from a ToDo in Full-Screen
mode, especially when the splitscreen preference option to force the display
of the contacts database on linking is not set.
Slip2007_01_27_12_50
- Updates Quote-of-the-day Plugin to V-2.2 which now avoids
Divide by zero error if the Today Quotes memo have no memos at all
(corrupt/completely misformatted) and Random is selected
as the display order.
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.0a, s3
New Features in this Release:
- Adds feature in Set Time Dialog: If Duration
button is tapped when the End time is selected, DateBk6 will now
compute the start time by subtracting the duration from the End time (as
opposed to adding the duration to the Start Time to compute the ending time).
- Adds ability in Today View to enter password for masked
events and look at the details of the event from that view.
- Adds feature to abort the display of the List View - this
is useful if you inadvertently pick Find all items linking to this,
or launch a search and suddenly see you mistyped the search string. A message
is placed on the top line saying the operation was aborted.
- Includes 2.1h of dbSetup6 which now sets the backup bit on
the help database (so it would get restored automatically after a hard reset).
- Fixes birthday feature from calendar database so you can
also have a birthday set as a monthly repeat by Date which repeats every
twelve months and avoid having the age/anniversary being displayed for
that individual(s).
New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- Aligns the checkcircle for untimed floating events in the
Today View with the diamond for untimed events rather than the checkcircle for
timed events.
- Includes the Location field in the Palm OS global find
function. If a match is found in the location field, the item will be launched
in the Day View with the details dialog displayed, so the location can be
directly accessed/viewed.
- Fixes problem whereby creating a new event immediately
after having set a repeat specification on a Saved View causes the new event
to pick up the same repeat specification.
- Fixed several relatively obscure bugs in birthday handling
from Contacts Database:
- Selecting a Birthday in the List view and then (redundantly) tapping Details
button would bring up an appointment record and also possibly cause an Index
out of Range error if calendar database was really tiny.
- Tapping on a masked birthday in the Day view and then tapping on a blank
time slot and going back and forth doing that can under some circumstances
cause an Index out of Range error.
- Today View and List View were displaying birthdays from contacts records
that were marked as private even when private records were set to be masked or
hidden.
- Tap&Hold on masked birthday item went to Birthday Details dialog anyway
without requesting Password.
- Displays B'day for birthday in monthly view when showing text for masked
item.
- Today View was not displaying the person's age for birthdays created
in the calendar database.
- Fixes date format for forthcoming Japanese version in the
4/6-month view and Today Views.
- Fixed obscure error of Tap&Hold and Toggle-Done on a ToDo
that did not change position in the database not being removed from the list
when completed items were set to be hidden.
Slip2006_12_04_14_45
- Fixes issue of the Set Start Of Next Month
command not properly advancing to the next year when issued in December
(affected both appointments and ToDo's).
- Fixes linking problem caused when invoking a link (by
tapping on a link icon) of some other event, when there was already a
pending link being set (now removes pending link status and follows the
link).
- Fixes problem of using Save As Template
command from popup list on a ToDO that is being displayed in integrated mode
(split-screen is ok, and invoking in any other way is also ok - just this
case causes a problem).
Slip2006_12_11_14_50
- Fixes problem of Option to use Jog/Navigator to scroll
hours in the graphical weekly view not being displayed on Treo650/700 devices
(this bug has always been in DateBk but apparently no one noticed!)
- Adds option in Birthday Settings to suppress the display of
the age of a person in the main views. On older Palm devices, this option is
not accessible, so you would need to set up the birthdays as monthly repeats
every 12 months to avoid having the birthday displayed.
- Includes a safer mechanism to deal with failure to install
DateBk6-resources, or mis-matched versions. It now only displays the error
message (which could under some conditions cause a "loop-out" problem) when
directly launched. In all other cases, it simply returns to the Palm OS.
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.0a, s2
New Features in this Release:
- Pressing Select (center button in 5-way navigator) in Today
View on a selected item now cycles between Details | Note | Location based on
order in More Adv. Settings (note: link is intentionally excluded here).
- When alarms are silenced, the alarm icon on the button in
the Today View now has a big X through it to indicate that alarms are
currently silenced.
- Adds option to display Advanced ToDo's in the Today View
(either from explicit or global advance) and displays the number of days to
the due date in red.
- Flags undated ToDo's in the Today view with Tilde character
(~).
- Adds display of 'B'day' for birthdays from the
Contacts Database in the monthly view when text is being displayed in that
view.
New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- Fixes obscure bug in GoTo Week Number dialog in graphical
weekly view - if today is Sunday, and you have Monday set as the week start in
the system and DateBk6 preference settings, the following week is marked in
bold rather than the current week, but only if you never go into the
weekly view with text first (as that subsequently "fixes" the problem for the
graphical weekly view). This bug has been in DateBk for some six years, but
never reported (and probably never noticed!).
- Fixes problem in vCal import (list view) whereby the
predelete all events in category option is not being properly supported.
- Fixes problem of not going to Template Date (1-jan-2020) in
Day View when tapping on GOTO/EDIT button in Template dialog from the List and
Monthly View's New From Template function.
- Fixes very obscure problem that was generating a "Blob
error" when a third party conduit stripped the LF on a tagged note field that
was in fact redundant and about to be removed by DateBk6.
- Fixes cosmetic display issue if you power off the device in
the Today View with a menu displayed and then power the device back on using
the power button.
- Fixes issue of not processing timezone offset on the end
time of an event in vCal records that are either beamed or imported.
- Fixes message in Beam Category and Beam List where it lists
the records sent as having been "imported" rather than "beamed".
- Fixes problem of ToDo's that are Due Soon (meaning they
have a start date in the future, but the advance date encompasses today)
displaying in the Day View even though the Hide attribute was
set in the ToDo Sorting Preference Panel.
- Includes workaround for system hacks (like HBX) which cause
the screen to collapse when invoked on top of DateBk6 (on exit - the screen
was not being extended back again).
- Includes updated dbSetup6 (v-2.1g) which avoids problem of
having DateBk6 think there is no World TimeZones record if World Timezones
were not installed when dbSetup6 was run. (this is an optimization to prevent
a futile search each time on startup for this record when it doesn't exist).
Also includes updated DST rules for USA for 2007. Also fixes issue of
optimization being lost in DateBk6 after a soft reset. This would affect the
startup time if a user had a huge memo database.
- Fixes 'Bad Record #' error that can occur on purging
ToDo's if screen is extended, ToDO's are displayed in split-screen mode
(full-screen) and the checkbox to archive ToDo's is not checked.
Slip2006_11_07_02_04
- Fixes issue of the option to show advanced ToDo's on all
days causing all advanced ToDo's to display in the Today View.
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.0a, s1
New Features in this Release:
- Tap&Hold on the priority field now pops up the urgency list
(brief tap still brings up priority popup list),
- Allows tap on date portion of title line in the Today View
to bring up the Day View with today's date.
- Displays Birthday Icon in Graphical Weekly View in the
untimed slot above the day.
- Feature to hide Floating Reminders now applies to yearly
view (clearly makes sense to also have it apply to that view).
- Adds preference option in Saved Views to adjust the List
View ending date if the current saved view has a relative date offset and
Custom Views dialog was completely reorganized.
- Now draws the urgency field inside the ToDo Checkbox in
integrated mode on Low Resolution devices (previously only high-resolution
devices supported the display of the urgency field).
New Fixes/Changes in this Release:
- Adds option to More Adv. Settings to avoid
using transparent graphics - necessary on some Sony Clie OS/4 devices which
failed to implement transparent graphics properly and crash if any are
present.
- Fixes application icon for Quote-of-the-Day which was still
using the VersaMail icon.
- Fixes problem of not displaying icons for other untimed
events if there was a birthday on that day (and also now displays birthday
icon).
- Ensures items with the same start time sort in the same
order in the List View as they do in the Day View.
- Feature to hide Floating Reminders only (Appointments tab
of main preferences) now applies to the second weekly view as previously
documented.
- Fixes problem of changes to the urgency field not resulting
in the Todo being re-sorted into correct position.
- Replaces main DateBk6 application icon with a new one to
avoid licensing issues on the old icon
- Fixes problems related to adjusting the List Ending Date in
saved views when relative dates are used.
- If split-screen was in full-screen mode, it remains that
way when switching databases (previously used to always go into normal
split-mode).
- When the same database is selected in the split-screen
menu, it now just toggles between split-screen and full-screen (previously it
cycled through the closed position - just always use Close window instead
now).
- Fixes some odd display/selection issues related to the
blank slot at the very end of the Popup Preference Lists. Note: if you see any
odd behavior, please reset your lists and re-order them first before reporting
any issue.
Slip2006_09_25_19_07
- Fixes problem of Selecting database in split-screen mode
not toggling between Full and Closed when Full-Screen mode option is
selected in SPLIT tab of the main preference panel.
- Fixes problem of memos being limited to 4k on newer Palm
devices (which now support up to 32k for memos) for the contacts and Memo
databases when accessed from Split-screen mode or from a link.
Slip2006_09_24_16_42
- Fixes problem of delete note on Contacts database (i.e.
newer PalmOne devices only) on occasion causing a crash, and also the
editing/deletion of notes possibly causing an attached photograph in the
contacts record to get lost.
Slip2006_09_28_11_37
- Fixes a problem (Null Handle) introduced in the very last
slipstream if you edit notes of appointments or ToDo's in integrated mode.
- Adjusts feature of handling select database in
split-screen mode (Slip2006_09_25_19_07) so it only does that if
invoked from the menu - if invoked by a button press it will cycle between
all three settings as before.
Slip2006_09_29_19_05
- Fixes problem of the Reset Palettes button
not resetting the palettes if the device was running in 16-bit color mode.
Slip2006_10_02_21_24
- Adds option in More Adv. Settings (Avoid
Suppressing Dup. Alarms) to
disable the feature that automatically disables alarms after a date/time
change is seen (some Treo phones broadcast this every time they re-connect,
and if constantly connecting/disconnecting, this can keep on powering on the
device).
- Fixes reset that occurs on Sony TH-55 if you use Delete
Note when the screen is expanded (this has nothing to do with the
similar-sounding issue in
Slip2006_09_24_16_42 - this issue is unique to the Sony TH-55
and is due to an erroneous update event generated by the Sony Palm OS).
Slip2006_10_05_2_38
- Fixes possible NULL handle error when changing category
of a ToDo in splitscreen mode (does not occur in integrated mode) using the
Set Category command on the popup list (only the popup list method for doing
this fails in this way).
Slip2006_10_11_13_58
- Fixes potential problem in re-displaying current
registration code if HotSyncUser name had exactly 20 characters (registration
was properly handled, but could under some circumstances be incorrectly
displayed on re-entering the registration dialog).
Slip2006_10_11_16_56
- Fixes reset if you go into Location dialog with no text
displayed and then use 'Select All' (obviously meaningless to do this of
course, but the program should not reset under these conditions!).
- Resolves minor inconsistency in how new events are dated
when created in the List View.
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.0a, s0
New Features in this Release:
New Fixes in this Release:
Slip2006_09_08_23_41
- Fixes problem of Font Selector being redrawn in Details
dialog on some PalmOne devices if preference was set to display Palm OS Date
dialog instead of DateBk6 Date Dialog, and Cancel was pressed in Date
Dialog.
- Fixes problem in split-screen in landscape mode, when
LEFTY is installed - under some conditions, there was a vertical band about
7 pixels wide that was erasing the description field.
Slip2006_09_12_18_20
- Fixes problem of custom Call/Action Template used to
create a ToDo causing a reset if a default urgency field was set (and
possibly under some conditions when it was not set).
Slip2006_09_13_00_44
- Fixes problem of sporadic resets in Alarm dialog when two
or more alarms are stacked and a stacked alarm has a location field and no
note field.
Slip2006_09_13_13_05
- Fixes problem of New Appointment command in all views
other than the Day View not picking up the minutes portion of the default
duration value for appointments.
- Fixes obscure problem if doing really massive, repeated
scrolling of Contacts in split-screen - under some conditions, can result in
a reset.
- Fixes problem of arrowheads disappearing on scroll bar in
split-screen when displaying contacts records and running with Lefty.prc
Slip2006_09_20_18_43
- Fixes problem of In-Saved-View-Indicator pushbutton always
getting cleared when you cancel out of the Saved Views dialog even though a
Saved View is still in effect.
- Honors the ~HIDE~ tag in the graphical weekly view
(previously such items were incorrectly displayed).
- Starts display of Urgency Help information on a separate
line (when blank ToDo Split-Screen tapped and items were hidden due to Urgency
Filtering).
- If Location field is set but contains no information, Alarm
display no longer includes empty parentheses after the description.
- Has workaround for Palm OS bug in Zire-31 - was failing to
redraw screen properly after Multiple menu was displayed/dismissed in
the List View.
Slip2006_09_21_14_50
- Fixes problem if you have two overlapping appointment
alarms both with the <NoAlarms> Metatag and the second alarm has a later end
time - previously it was not extending the silence till time to the end
time of the second or subsequent alarm.
- dbSetup6 now includes the new starting date for DST in the
USA for 2007 (2nd Sunday in March). The ending date for DST is still set for
the 2006 date of October 29th, but after that day, rule .A should be changed
so the second number becomes 1111 (was L110) to reflect the first Sunday in
November for 2007 and beyond.
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.0a, R2
New Features in this Release:
- Adds option in the List View's Delete all Items
command to remove all delete events that have an instance within the range
even if they have other instances outside of the range. For safety, this
option is not a preference setting but must be set each time it's needed. By
default, only those repeat events where all instances occur within the
repeat range are deleted.
New Fixes in this Release:
-
Fixes arithmetic overflow issue when using the Multiple
Command in the list view and adjusting times by a little more than nine
hours.
-
Restores workaround to ensure that when a new ToDo is created, the insert
pointer and focus are placed on the description field in the ToDo Details
dialog.
-
Fixes problem of canceling out of ToDo details dialog when no description and
no note is present and a default urgency field was set (ToDo should be
removed, but instead a completely blank ToDo was left in the database).
Slip2006_09_01_12_31
- Fixes problem of tap on urgency field popping up priority
list (issue appeared after order of urgency/priority was swapped in P9
preview, and was not reported till now).
- Changes default font setting when plug-in's are launched
in the Today View to the standard font (was bold font - in theory this
should not affect any existing plug-ins).
- When converting a Float->ToDo, the existing feature of
forcing the display of all ToDo's to ensure the new item is visible is now
suppressed if ToDo's were intentionally not being displayed at that time.
- Fixes one isolated case not addressed by R1, Slip2006_08_21_17_03
- if the assigned icon was the last icon in the icon database, it
was still getting reset (test for invalid icon was off by 1 position).
- Fixes problem of end-time not being properly preserved
when using the multiple option in the list view to set
a specific date and time on all items.
- Includes updated dbScan, V-1.9j to repair damage to Tasks
database caused by V-4.23 of EasySync conduit for Lotus Notes.
- Includes preview copy of Quote-Of-The-Day plug-in for
Today View.
Slip2006_09_03_14_34
- Fixes problem of not properly displaying the current value
of the setting: SYNCHRONIZE WITH OS/OTHER APPS in the TimeZone Tab (it was
actually changing it, but just not properly displaying the current setting).
Slip2006_09_04_13_25
- Fixes problem of None not working as a custom alarm
sound on ToDo's.
Slip2006_09_05_18_36
- Fixes problem of Split-screen display in small mode
of ToDo's not showing text of ToDo's under some very specific conditions that
would likely only affect a tiny number of users.
Slip2006_09_06_16_00
- Fixes problem of displaying small/tiny fonts on a Sony OS/4
Clie device in the second weekly view with text, when one or more days were
shaded (was causing an Unimplemented type error).
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.0a, R1
New Features in this Release:
-
Adds DST option in World Timezones rule for DST changeover time (2am for USA,
1am for EU). To mark a rule as changing DST at 1am (EU rule) vs. prior default
of 2am (USA Rule), put an * at the start of the description field for the rule
(i.e. just after the space that follows the DST ending rule).
-
Includes Location information in Alarm Dialog
-
Adds default preference setting for urgency field in ToDo's
-
Now displays gray down arrow in Today View on the Due
Today..Past Due ToDo line if there are more ToDo's to display. If you tap
the Gray arrow, or press the letter 'T' or press Select on the ToDo
status line, DateBk6 will look to see if you have a
saved view with the specific name: ToDoView and if so will launch it
automatically. If you set up a saved view with that name to only list ToDo's and
also a relative date of 0 (i.e. always goes to today), you then have a
convenient way to access all ToDo's due today and conveniently return to
the Today view (by exiting the view).
-
Adds vCal import support in Multiple menu of
list view - imports all vCal records found in any memopad records (Note that
only a smallish subset of vCal attributes is handled by this routine).
-
Fixes problem in landscape mode on TX/LifeDrive where writing
in the graffiti area in some cases acts as if the (i) in the dialog were tapped.
New Fixes in this Release:
- Fixes problem in Today View of extra blank line generated
under some circumstances when a ToDo was hidden that would have otherwise
displayed (using the ~HIDE meta-tag).
-
Fixes some minor navigation issues for Treo devices
-
Fixes issue of bringing up keyboard input routine (either
on-screen or in graffiti area) being flaky on Palm T5/Tx when in
portrait/landscape mode
-
Fixes problem of icon not being displayed for saved view if
the current view was not displaying icons.
- (Includes all slipstream fixes made to PD release)
-
Several internal changes made to clean up some old code that
is no longer relevant
Slip2006_07_25_16_15
-
Fixes obscure problem of losing timezone or meeting attendee
information under some circumstances (new event, no tag, and not in unfiled
category and post-hotsync scan done before item was looked at).
Slip2006_07_26_11_14
-
Looks for Select keystroke on Tungsten T3/TC/TT (and possibly
some other devices with center select, but not supporting navigation) from Edit field in
Details dialog and has it exit the dialog as if DateBk6 ignored this key, the
Palm OS crashed - apparently a Palm OS bug that was subsequently fixed in later
Tungsten devices).
-
Fixes problem of urgency field being slightly clipped in the
Small font mode of the split-screen in the Day View.
-
When setting the Silent Till feature in the
Alarm Manager dialog, Datebk now displays the current time as the default for
the time dialog.
-
Fixes problem of menu button/function not working in the
Birthday Settings panel of the main preferences.
Slip2006_07_29_19_16
- Allows Select button on the last line of the ToDo display
in the Today view to invoke a user-defined ToDoView (same as
tapping on arrow)
- Fixes problem of right edge of priority digit getting
clipped when ToDo's were displayed in Small View in integrated mode and an
item on that day was in a different timezone, thereby creating a two-column
time display.
Slip2006_07_29_08_06
- Ensures that screen is re-expanded (if necessary) after
an alarm appears on top of DateBk6 (new issue just in the R1 release).
- Fixes issue of not returning properly to day-details
sub-view in the second weekly view after tapping anywhere when a note is
displayed.
Slip2006_08_08_08_06
- When switching to Day View from Today View using left-most
view button, now ensures that no record is selected in the day view (otherwise
it could force the Show/Hide latch unexpectedly).
- Ensures that if there are garbage values for the TimeZone-associated
Icon Preferences, they are reset back to 0.
Slip2006_08_16_17_35
- Fixes problem of not properly purging records when there
are more than 32,768 records in the appointment database. Also includes fixed
dbScan (v-1.9g) which includes a similar fix for the routine that removes
deleted records from the PIM databases).
- Fixes problem of losing all attributes on converting Float
to ToDo.
Slip2006_08_20_13_10
- Fixes obscure problem that has apparently always been in
DateBk3/4/5 but not reported: if you have a repeat event, go into details
dialog, make a change and then cancel out of the repeat exception dialog, the
very next appointment you tap on may, under some circumstances, pick up the
attributes of the repeat event.
Slip2006_08_21_17_03
- Fixes new issue introduced in slip of
Slip2006_08_08_08_06 whereby if you were tracking icons by resource ID, it
was possible that the icon associations for categories and timezones would get
reset under some conditions.
Slip2006_08_21_20_18
- Fixes new issue introduced in slip of
Slip2006_08_16_17_35 whereby purge was generating invalid Call to
ApptGetRecord and causing a reset.
Slip2006_08_23_19_12
- Sidesteps issue that has always been in DateBk5/6: if you
double-tap the NEW button when ToDO's are displayed in full screen, a reset
occurs because of a race condition in the Palm OS whereby the Palm OS gets
confused as to what form is actually being displayed on the screen.
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.0a, pD
New Features in this Release:
- Revised dbSetup6 with revised on-line help files is
included in the Zip download along with all the standard support files that
were in the DateBk5....zip download.
- First release of DateBk6 manual is available for download
from: http://www.PimlicoSoftware.com/datebk6-v60a-manual.zip.
- Graphical Weekly View has a text option to display text of
appointments on hi-rez screens (tight, but quite usable, esp. if screen
supports landscape mode).
- Now consistently uses the space bar (either from keyboard
or graffiti stroke) to cycle/toggle between all the sub-views in the
Graphical weekly, Text-Weekly, Monthly and Yearly views.
- On devices with shift key (like Treo-600/650/700), up/down
in Day View can be used with shift to move by screen even though normal
default is to individually select items.
- Has Southern Hemisphere option for Moon Phases to
reverse the display of the first/last quarter icons(!).
- Adds the letter 'L' as a keyboard option in the Address
Details Screen so you can invoke the logging feature without having to pull
out the stylus.
- Adds More Adv. Settings preference to use the
standard Palm OS Copy/Paste routines in the note field, so third party apps
like Clipper work (DateBk6 uses its own copy/paste buffer to overcome std.
limitation of 1k copy/paste buffer size).
- Adds More Adv. Settings preference to display
birthdays in all categories even if some of those categories are hidden in the
Contacts database.
- On Tap&Hold on Alarm Selector in ToDo Details dialog now
displays more informative: Set HH:MM from now as title.
- The <NoAlarms> meta-tag now only updates the
quiet-until time if it is further in the future than any currently set
quiet-until time (i.e. using the date/time feature in the DateBk Alarm
Manager).
- The popup list for the day's events (Graphical Weekly View,
monthly, 4-month/yearly views) now displays No Appointments on this Day
if there are no appointments while also allowing the user to tap that line and
go directly to that day in the Day View.
- The Adjust Untimed Items flag (List View - Multiple
Command - Set/Adjust Date/Time) now functions when adjusting the time by
forcing untimed appointments and ToDo's to midnight (00:00). There is no harm
doing this, and some users might find this useful for fixing up the
calendar/tasks database, so for consistency, this is now allowed.
New Fixes in this Release:
- Fixes problem of changes in the ToDo Sort order not taking
effect right away in Split-Screen mode.
- Avoids restoring registration code from Memo database if it
looks like it was corrupted.
- Addresses issue of Urgency filter having garbage values
when upgrading from earlier versions of DateBk5.
- Fixes Index out of Range Error (new in pC) if you
tap on an empty time slot, go into Details dialog, cancel out of Details
dialog and then tap on another timeslot.
- Fixes problem with <NK> feature on floating events whereby
an advance prior to first day on which advance should appear was
getting generated.
- Allows Icons-DATEBK to be used as a default filename for
icons as well as Icons-DATEBK5 (to avoid confusion when DateBk6 is being
used).
- Fixes problem of resizing the Contacts Details screen
(using DIA) and then scrolling (scrolling region was not updated for change of
screen size). This issue has apparently always been in DateBk5 as well but
never reported.
- Hide Floats feature in Appt Category Selection
Dialog now only displays days of week if this feature is enabled. Also default
was changed to ensure this feature appears disabled on initial installation.
- Ensures that CreatorID's are properly reset when
initializing DateBk6 preference database (avoids problems in some upgrade
situations).
- Ensures that user does not leave Time Selection Dialog when
setting start/end time for repeat saved view with an invalid value (which then
causes problems if not fixed).
- When switching to the History database, the New
button legends in the weekly/list views are now changed to old
as in the Day View to warn user before creating a new event.
- Fixes an obscure problem if Monthly view is starting view
and icons are selected - under some conditions, an icon can appear in the
wrong month.
- Fixes problem of displaying text of appointment in Monthly
view when event is private and status is set to masked.
- Works around Palm OS Form Handling bug which affects
bringing up Custom View Dialog over Day View with screen extended (part of
Day View was drawn over the Custom View Dialog).
- Works around Palm OS bug in failing to post screen refresh
on exit from keyboard dialog (if DIA is extended, bottom line buttons never
get redrawn).
- Small/Tiny Fonts should now work in the Today View on most
(if not all) OS/4 Clie's that support 320x320 or 320x480 resolution (note that
only OS/5 hi-rez devices support the new text display in the weekly/monthly
views).
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.0a, pC
New Features in this Release:
- Includes menu option in the Options menu of the main
preference panel to Remove All Tags. This would only be used if you were
abandoning DateBk for some other calendar application and wanted to remove all
the custom tags that DateBk places in the note field. There are two
confirmation dialogs that you have to respond with YES to before this will be
done as this step is not reversible.
New Fixes in this Release:
- Repeat Saved Views: if a view was invoked automatically on
a day, but then the user switched to another saved view, then at the next
minute check DateBk6 was looking for any other saved view that also met
the current repeat specification and then launched it. The logic was changed
to not look for any other saved view under these precise conditions.
- Sidesteps bug in Treo650 (CDMA versions only -
Sprint/Verizon) whereby if an alarm dialog is displayed and a caller hangs up
the phone before the user acknowledges the phone call, the devices locks up
and requires a soft reset. This is a more general fix than the one previously
provided in pB and appears to resolve all issues there.
- Fixes MemHandleResize error that can occur
under some circumstances when making an attribute change to a ToDo that was
created with an earlier Version of DateBk.
- Works around Palm OS redraw bug on PalmOne TX/LifeDrive/E2
when using Palm OS Date Picker rather than DateBk6's Date Picker in the Repeat
dialog to set the end date of an appointment.
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.0a, pB
NOTE: The new method of handling plug-ins
will require you to go into View Display Options, tap on the Tap to
Select Items for Today View selector and select the plug-ins you want to
include (you may need to explicitly unselect plug-in slots that are not
used in order to avoid a blank line being taken up for that slot in the Day
View). Note that when you select a plug-in it will also invoke the configurator
for that plug-in if one exists (not all plug-ins will have configuration
options). Some plug-ins may also allow for 2 or 3 lines in the Today View
Display. You will need the new version of the 4Cast plug-in to work properly
with this pB preview release - this is now included.
New Features in this Release:
- Now automatically retrieves registration code from Memo Database if the
registration gets lost for some reason. Also pre-deletes any prior memo with a
registration code.
- Reorganizes Details dialog layout so the Category Selection
popup is displayed even if the text edit window is open.
- The Find function in the list view will now scan the
location field in appointments.
- Adds Custom View button to the button list for the Datebook
Button in the Views tab of the main preference panel. If the Datebook
button cycles into this button, the custom/Saved View selection dialog appears
(so you can switch to a saved view using 5-way navigator).
- Adds date field as well for the feature of silencing alarms
in the Alarm Manager (so you can easily silence alarms for an entire vacation
or weekend, etc.).
- Phases of Moon in Today view now moved to the last
position after other plug-ins.
- Insert Template and New Journal functions are now available in the Today,
List, Month and both weekly
Views.
- All Items to MemoPad now supports
<Add-Time: hh:mm> meta tag which can be followed by hours and/or minutes
in the format (12h 30m or 5:30 etc.). This will add that time to the duration
of the event (can be useful in setting up fixed templates, etc.). Also
supports <add$: dd.cc> meta tag which can add a fixed monetary amount
(in form 23.12 or 135,156 or .24 etc.). Both these features can be applied to
ToDo's now as well as appointments, so Tasks can be used to contribute
into the duration/costing values. Extra added hours are displayed in brackets
and added monetary values are displayed in braces with $ to better distinguish
them from times. Typical use of monetary value would be a fixed $50 charge for
a service call, etc.
- New installer for Plug-Ins now automatically displays all
installed plugins for installation by tapping on a list (no need to know
creatorID, etc.).
New Fixes in this Release:
- Fixes display issue of selecting No Time in the
Alarm Manager and also fixed problem of not canceling the silence feature when
unchecking that checkbox.
- Fixes problem of the No More appointments Today
message appearing twice in the Today View under some conditions.
- Fixes problem of being able to select six view buttons
and custom view button and not getting the usual error message reminding
that only six buttons can be selected.
- Fixes problem of changes to ToDo Sort criteria not
triggering the Saved View Selection Dialog so the changes can be optionally
propagated to other saved view(s).
- Fixes problem of alarm manager not drawing its dialog
correctly on devices with extended screens in landscape mode with
LeftHandedness set and screen extended when Alarm Manager was invoked.
- Fixes problem of not bringing up birthday details dialog if
you tap on a birthday and tap Details in the Day Details screen of the second
weekly view (it works ok if you tap it twice - just not if you tap the Details
button).
- Fixes problem of birthday icon not being displayed on
birthdays from Contacts database in the day Details of the second weekly view
- Fixes problem of all user-icons drawn in the Day Details of
the second weekly view being drawn one pixel too low (this issue was also in
DateBk5).
- Fixes problem of the location field in the list view not
being properly truncated so it does not overlap the end of line icons.
- Fixes issue of DateBk6 overriding any explicit assignment
to the built-in calendar application after initial installation had passed.
- Fixes obscure bug in list view whereby birthdays from
contacts database might be off by 1 day if there was a birthday on February
28th and the last item displayed in that view had a date in a leap
year.
- Fixes long-standing problem in DateBk5/6 (only just
reported!) that if you go into Options | Preferences and then leave that via a
menu to get into a particular view's Display Options Settings, whatever was
just changed in the Preferences dialog is forgotten(!).
- Includes workaround for one (but apparently not all) problem in Treo-650 whereby
Telephone Function hangs device if an Alarm Manager dialog is being displayed
when the call comes in and if the caller hangs up or the call is
disconnected before the recipient responds to the call (however, some
devices (or perhaps 3rd party software) are interfering with this fix so I am
still working on a work-around for that which may be slip-streamed very
shortly).
- Fixes problem of Saved View button getting highlighted if
Cancel is struck in Saved View Dialog and no saved view would then be in
effect.
- Fixes problem of buttons not redrawn when screen collapsed
to display Keyboard Edit dialog (Palm OS fails to send proper notification
when collapsing screen).
- Fixes problem of returning to blank screen after invoking
Recent Items List by double-press of menu button when split-screen was closed.
- Fixes problem of hidden icon selector in Saved Views dialog
picking up Navigation focus on devices with 5-way navigators that support the
Navigation API.
- Fixes problem of losing navigation focus (on devices with
5-way navigators that support the navigation API) in ToDo Details dialog when
going into Icon selector, font selector, due date list and category selector.
- Fixes problem of not initially selecting top/bottom icons
in first column in the Icon Selection Dialog on devices with 5-way navigators
that support the navigation API.
- Now automatically re-sorts the ToDo database when launched
if a hotsync has taken place since DateBk6 last exited and if the ToDo
database has a custom sort set.
- Fixes problem of creating New ToDo in second weekly view
not properly refreshing the screen to show the new ToDo on exit.
- Fixes intermittent DmQueryRecord Failed?! errors
when deleting multiple appointments using the Delete function on the
context-sensitive popup list.
- Fixes problem of changing the location of a repeat event in
the Details dialog, then selecting Current to make an exception (was
not properly picking up the location field). This same problem (not reported)
was fixed vis-a-vis the Description field as the same problem exists there too
now that the description field is part of the Details dialog.
- Fixes potential problem of getting DmQueryRecord Failed
error when switching to the history database in the Today View or changing
the security level in that view to hide private records.
- Fixes problem of adjusting date/time on multiple items in
the list view when there is a repeat item with an explicit ending repeat date.
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.0a, pA
New Features in this Release:
- Changed method of handling Rocker-Right function to allow
that key to be used to invoke 3rd party app, MiniKeyboard.
- Allows icons from user's icon database to be assigned to
saved views and displayed in Saved View button (note that buttons have less
space, so icons need to be designed to use the available button space).
New Fixes in this Release:
- Fixes problem of changing priority of ToDo in split-screen display not
getting synched to the desktop in some circumstances (an issue that was also
always in DateBk5).
- Fixes another case where toggling done on a repeat event with an alarm
could cause a reset under some conditions.
- Fixes problem of timebars not being redrawn after location dialog is
dismissed when called up directly from Day View by tapping on icon.
- Fixes problem of time bars not being redrawn in Day View when in
small/tiny font mode and Rocker down is used to select the top item.
- Fixes Table Invalid Row error with small/tiny font mode in Day View
when marking an item done and tapping scroll up arrow.
- Fixes problem of not returning to the correct week when creating a new
appointment in the second weekly view.
- Fixes some odd display glitches when popping up and hiding
the order selection list in More Adv. Settings preference dialog
- Ensures that Next Alarm in Today View displays Private (not
displayed) if the next alarm is for a private event and private events are
masked or hidden (and the preference to display private alarms is not set).
- Fixes problem of snoozed alarms sounding when Alarm Manager
was supposedly making all alarms silent to a specified time.
- Fixes problem of priority display in Today View obeying
weekly preference setting rather than global setting for display.
- Ensures that when device is powered back on and Today View
was displaying that the list is immediately updated (next event, next alarm,
etc.).
- Fixes new problem of link to repeat ToDo getting switched
to crossed-off instance instead of rescheduled repeat (also affected third
party app: Shadow).
- Fixes odd Palm OS quirk of displaying hidden (i) info tip
in the Today View.
- Fixes problem of some screen "dirt" being left at the
bottom of the screen when switching years in the yearly view and shaded days
are being used.
- Fixes problem of not re-sorting ToDo database after
changing sort preferences from any view other than the Day View.
- Only pops up priority list on tap next checkbox if priority
is being displayed.
- Now properly checks that any requested plug-in is there
before attempting to launch it.
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.0a, p9
New Features in this Release:
- Swaps the Urgency and Priority fields around for consistency with Franklin
Covey Usage.
- Completely detaches VersaMail as anything special - it's now just the
third plug-in and that slot can be used for any regular plug-in. Only special
action is that DateBk6 will default the creator ID of the third plug-in to
CESV for the VersaMail plugin on installation, but only if VersaMail looks
like it's installed on the target Palm device.
- Adds New Floating Event option to all dialogs to create an untimed
floating event. Also, if the New button in the day view was programmed
to just generate a floating event instead of some other function, it will now
generate a floating event by default on the New button in the graphical
weekly, second weekly (details screen) and list Views..
New Fixes in this Release:
- Fixed problem of not redrawing the checkboxes in the
More Adv. Settings Preference Dialog when the Select Order list is
closed.
- Fixes problem of not being able to use small/Tiny Fonts in
the Today View on OS/4 Clie's (but still a bit more work to be done here to
get it perfect).
- Fixes issue of not displaying Urgency field for ToDo's in
Day View when Priority is hidden, but Urgency is not hidden.
- Fixes potential issue of Last Alarm button picking up the
wrong alarm if saved views have been used since the alarm went off.
- Ensures no possibility of looking for a phone number in
note field and getting confused by something that looks like a phone number
(unlikely, but possible).
- Fixes problem of view display buttons not properly
displaying both the currently selected view and the indicator as
to whether or not you are in a saved view.
- Fixes new problem in P8 with DmQueryFailed error if
birthday present on current day in Today View (side effect of adding support
for the ~HIDE~ feature in p7's today view).
- Now includes phases of moon icons for 16-bit grayscale
devices (M100, Handera, etc.).
- Fixes possible reset in Today View on Handera 330 device
when using Small Font Option (date lines are still not drawn quite right on
Handera in Small font mode, but this is purely a cosmetic issue that will be
addressed later.
- Fixes line drawing problem on Handera-330 in Weekly View
when Small font Option is used.
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.0a, p8
NOTE: In order to add some popup list
preferences, your popup lists WILL NOT display correctly and MAY CAUSE A RESET
IF YOU DON'T DO THIS: after installing P7,
go into the preference panel, select Popup List Settings, and
tap the RESET button on both the Appointments and ToDo's list to reset
those lists.
New Features in this Release:
- Now propagates the icon on a target event to its floating
reminder (in conjunction with change made below).
- Adds option to Monthly and Graphical weekly View to hide
floating reminders (so if icon is present, it won't cause confusion with
target event which is why the icon was not appearing on floating reminders in
earlier versions of Datebk). This preference option is in the APPTS section of
the main preference panel. Option to hide floating events in the monthly and
graphical weekly views now only applies to floating events and not
floating reminders.
- Now includes the Urgency field in the List View display.
- Adds Sort ToDo DB preference in Saved Views dialog
which is normally checked so ToDo Database will be re-sorted if a custom (i.e.
non-default) sort is being used. The database will only be sorted
though if it appears necessary (ToDo Database modified while Datebk6 was not
running, saved view invoked which changes the ToDo sort preference, etc.).
Uncheck this box purely to improve performance by ignoring the sort when the
order of ToDo's is not relevant for that saved view.
- When logging completed ToDo's and floats, now appends
original due date of ToDo (or date of Floating event) in parentheses after
description in Daily Journal if that date was different from Today's date.
- Makes phone dialing more flexible - now has preference in
More Adv. Settings to allow you to specify up to five delimiters -- in
addition to (-) that can be ignored in a phone number. Now only requires 2
consecutive digits to start recognition, but still requires 6 digits with
either hyphen or delimiter present to qualify as a phone number (if you only
use a space as a delimiter, put a space in as a delimiter!). Also allows
<name> to be as much as five characters after the number (so it skips the
phone label on a call/action template.
New Fixes in this Release:
- Fixed problem of not properly updating the screen in the
Today view after the birthday details had been changed.
- Fixed problem of transparent icons in Small/Tiny versions
of Today View not handling transparent drawing on background.
- Corrects problem (in DateBk5 as well) that if you change
Beam Receive preferences to Override Sender but never specify a
category other than the default unfiled, the preference change is
ignored.
- Fixed issue of not checking for entering/exiting a repeat
saved view when device was powered on with the Datebook button and DateBk6 was
displaying the Day View when it last powered off.
- Fixed problem of losing urgency field if that was the only
field that was changed and there was no other attribute in the ToDo that would
cause a tag to be generated (problem was the entire tag was removed at that
point).
- Fixes problem of inconsistent handling of vibration between
Treo600/650 models (with proprietary vibration/LED) vs. Std. PalmOS devices
(Palm OS API vibration handling).
- Fixes problem of not drawing Location Dialog (although it's
active) when tapping on the Location icon but the insert pointer is currently
in another event.
- Fixes Index Out Of Range error when toggling Done
status on a repeat event with an alarm (same issue as existed with floating
events in p6 that was fixed in p7).
- Has workaround for DM Patch bug of providing wrong record
handles which resulted in valid ToDo records being hidden behind deleted
records. Also sidesteps NIL Chunk Ptr bug in DM Patch.
- Now obeys MDY/DMY/YMD system date preference when
displaying date on top line in Today View.
- Updated to work with very latest release of PhoneMagic
(possibly not released yet) which now uses a Feature to tell DateBk6 that it
should use the proprietary contacts database for linking information.
- Avoids crash when tapping last Alarm button if DateBk6DB
preferences were hopelessly corrupt.
- Supports Small font mode on Handera330 in Today View (tiny
modes are not supported).
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.0a, p7
NOTE: In order to add some popup list
preferences, your popup lists WILL NOT display correctly and MAY CAUSE A RESET
IF YOU DON'T DO THIS: after installing P7,
go into the preference panel, select Popup List Settings, and
tap the RESET button on both the Appointments and ToDo's list to reset
those lists.
New Features in this Release:
- Adds Toggle Private to the list of popup list
preferences.
- Removes restriction (also in DateBk5) of not allowing
Tap&Hold on a masked item that has been revealed because a valid password has
been entered (Item is always remasked though after the Tap&Hold function is
completed).
- Adds Dial Phone # to the list of popup list
preferences. This function will scan the description, location and note fields
(in that order) looking for a phone number and will then (based on preference
in More Adv. Settings) display
a confirmation dialog with that number (and also a name, if you include the
name in angle brackets after the phone number with nothing other than spaces
intervening (such as: (501) 453-6666 <John Carstairs>). Phone number can only
consist of digits, open-close parenthesis, spaces and hyphens - no other characters are allowed
and there must be at least three consecutive digits and one hyphen in the
phone number for it to be recognized. This feature is only
supported on devices that properly implement the Palm OS API for dialing,
Samsung I-300/330 (500?) phones, and any phone if third party app TakePHone is
installed. For now, it will only find the first phone number.
- Implements special meta-tag in contacts database note field
of <BirthdayName=abcdef...> which overrides the name of the contact to use the
name 'abcdef...' (so you can have someone else's name appear in the Birthday
entry in the calendar).
- Today View now obeys the ~HIDE~ meta-tag in the note field
of appts and ToDo's and will not display such items.
- When using repeat specification on Saved Views if you exit
the view and then exit the application and then relaunch DateBk6, it now will
automatically reapply the saved view that should be in effect.
- Now hides and displays the Ascending/Descending/Hide
buttons in ToDo Sort preferences so that only those buttons that have specific
meaning for the currently displayed sort criteria are displayed.
- Start/end time and alarm setting of a template for the
Daily Journal are now treated as attributes that can be set for the Daily
Journal from the template.
- The sort criteria Completed's instrinsic sort has
been changed from Date to True/False. This allows better
control over the position of completed events (put this first in the sort
hierarchy and then set it as Ascending to put completed ToDo's after all
non-completed ToDo's, or Descending to put it before all other non-completed
ToDo's).
- Operation of 5-way navigator has been changed in Location
field: if the field is blank on entry, insert pointer is put in the field
ready to accept new text. Otherwise, focus is left on the OK button (so SELECT
just exits from the dialog).
New Fixes in this Release:
- Fixed problem of (No More appointments Today) line
appearing when some timed appointments were being displayed and this could
also under special conditions also cause the bottom line with the Next Alarm
information to be overwritten.
- Fixes Record Index error or DmQueryFailed errors
when moving focus past Birthday event in Day View when the Day Number of the
birthday is greater than the number of records in the appointment database.
- Fixes problem of not handling the hiding of dated and
past-due ToDo's when set in ToDo Sort Preferences.
- Fixes the minute update in Today View which in p6 was no
longer checking in the right place to see if some other window (such as a
menu) was overlaying the main screen.
- Fixes problem of losing text in description field of the
new Details dialog when creating a new appointment from a view other than the
Day View and going into the repeat dialog after the text was entered.
- Fixes bug of treating the checkbox to adjust time items as
always being set when adjusting the date/time of a block of events in
the list view (Setting the Date/Time was handled properly).
- Fixes problem of command bar not properly responding to the
next character typed in the Location Dialog (and possibly also the new
Description field in the Details dialog).
- Fixes problem (also in Datebk5) that a tap on the link icon
on a ToDo in split-screen when the event is private but the lock flag was
being hidden by preference was not bringing up the linked contact.
- Avoids MemHandleFree error if you are attempting to delete
today's Daily Journal and have enabled logging of all deletions
to the Daily Journal (a rather special end-condition!).
- Fixed Urgency checkbox in ToDo preferences which was mis-positioned
one pixel too high.
- Fixes spacing problem when using standard font in Today
View when you have a ToDo with a priority and urgency and past-due indicator
and your time preference is set to a 24-hour clock.
- Fixes problem of floating events not showing up in Today
View if you set the preference in the weekly view to hide floating events.
Also fixed the parallel issue of not showing timed, zero-duration events if
you were hiding those in the weekly view.
- Fixes problem of Toggle Done causing a reset if the
appointment was not on today, had an alarm set and Always Show New
Day:Category was not checked in preferences.
- Moon phases are now displayed as Northerners see them, not
Southerners.
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.0a, p6
NOTE: Be sure to install both PRC files,
and if you use VersaMail, you *MUST* install this updated VersaMail plug-in or
it will likely crash on startup.
- Added an Edit menu to the Location dialog.
- VersaMail plugin was updated to include a version feature
to allow plug-ins to provide forwards compatibility with older versions
of DateBk6 (or at least complain gracefully). However, it is very important
that this new plug-in get installed with the P6 release if you use VersaMail.
- Fixes occasional issue of Chunk Underlock Error if
BirthdayIndex DB is corrupt and you answer YES - REBUILD when asked DateBk6.
- Fixes a spurious BirthdayIndex DB is corrupt error
condition when category synchronization was in effect.
- Includes fix for screen redrawing when graffiti/M is used
to bring up Alarm Manager from Today Screen.
- Fixes problem of including birthdays from a category in the
contacts database that is marked as currently hidden from within DateBk6.
- Allows separate preferences now for including Week number
and Day Number in Today View
- Includes preference option in Today View to hide icons.
- Now forces redraw of entire screen on exit from Category
Profile or font/color selector as some Palm OS devices won't restore the
screen properly.
- Includes distinctive title text for picking colors in Today
View's View Display Options dialog.
- Fixes problem of marking an item in the appointment
database on a future date either done or struckthrough with the option to log
to the Daily Journal and there is no Daily Journal set up on that day
yet (wrong event could possibly get marked done and the view was not updated
properly.
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.0a, p5
NOTE: In order to get VersaMail to display
in the Today View with P5 you will need to (a) install the
DateBk6VersaMailPlugin.prc applet and also go into View Display Options in the
Today View, tap on the top-line selector and make sure that the CreatorID for
the Versamail Plugin (CESV) is set in the Creator ID field for the Email
package.
- Added an Edit menu to the Details dialog.
- Fixes mispositioning problem of Birthday icon in Today view
when small/Tiny fonts are selected
- Fixes mispositioning problem of icons in Today View when
small/Tiny fonts are selected (overwriting urgency/past-due indicator).
- Now allows future birthdates to be displayed (i.e. a
birthday with the year set in the future is now treated as displayable on that
date).
- Fixed the issue of drawing the background in the correct
theme color in the TodayView when no color is selected for the background
option.
- Now implements VersaMail as a plugin with a specifiable
CreatorID (in preparation for supporting other Email packages). Also fixes
problems of entering a Creator ID into the two plug-in fields (will no longer
cause any problems even if no app exists, or an app exists that has no
provision for functioning as a Plug-in for DateBk6).
- Fixes problem of view navigation buttons not being
displayed properly on non-color Palm OS devices with 16-bit grayscale.
- Fixes problem of the Today View crashing if you enable the
display of moon phases, but then set the system date back to to 2004 or
earlier or to 2014 or later (not sure why anyone would ever do that,
but..... obviously program should not crash either).
- Avoids Current Record not Selected? error in Today
view if there are no appointments to display on today and you tap the line
with that text (also with ToDo's).
- Fixes problem of changing a person's birthday from the
Details dialog in DateBk6 (convenient as DateBk6 allows you to quickly key in
the correct birthyear).
- Adds substantial integrity checks to the format of the
BirthdayIndex Database which was found to be corrupt on a lot of user's
handhelds.
- Fixes Index Out Of Range error in DayView due caused
by specific layout issues of other events. Fixes similar error in Weekly View
under certain conditions and if you have less than 366 records in the Contacts
database.
- Fixes problem of selecting a birthday in the popup list of
appts & Todo's in the graphical weekly, monthly and yearly views which could
cause a reset under some conditions.
- Ensures that a birthday from a private record in the
contacts database obeys all the standard rules of privacy (i.e. requires
password if masked, hidden if private records are being hidden).
- Fixes problem of category profile buttons not being
operable in the Category Selection dialog when the Address/Memo databases were
selected.
- Fixes refresh problem on Sony Clie's in Today View when
virtual graffiti area is hidden (expanded screen area not being redrawn).
- Fixes problem of specifying a lot of ToDo's in the Today
View when there are only a few appointments and overdrawing the Next Alarm
line on the bottom of the screen.
- Now provides dedicated buttons to play the alarm sounds in
the Appt. Details, ToDo Details and Alarm Preferences dialog so you can select
an alarm sound without having it play.
- Fixes problem of Tap&Hold on an undated ToDo in the Today
View going to a screwy date (near the end) in the Palm calendar. Now goes to
today's date if you Tap&Hold on an undated ToDo.
- Avoids displaying the Location icon if an item has a
location field but there is nothing in it.
- Fixes problem (also in DateBk5) of 6-month display in
landscape mode not showing appointment indicators on the last two months of
the display.
- Sidesteps the bug in the Sony Clie Palm OS 4.x whereby it
crashes due to a failure to properly support the full Palm OS API
specification (there are probably still a few issues left for OS/4 Clie's, but
this was a big one that needed to be fixed for the Today View - note that you
will need to set the Advanced Option to Force 8bit mode and also set
the background to None in the Today View for this to work).
- Fixes problem of birthdays from contacts database appearing
earlier than the birthdate in the List View.
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.0a, p4
NOTE: In order to add some popup list
preferences, your popup lists may not display correctly - after installing P4,
you will need to go into the preference panel, select Popup List Settings, and
tap the RESET button on both the Appointments and ToDo's list and then reset
your preferences.
- Fixed problem when not having any later appointments today
and none for the next week not displaying anything at all (now displays the
(No more Appts. Today) message).
- Adds Pallette/RGB Selector switching in the dialog that
sets the colors for various attributes in the Today View.
- Added new popup list preference option for one week
later to mean one week from due date rather than today. Other
entry for scheduling one week from today now reads: a week from Today
to avoid confusion.
- Added option for setting a link from the popup list by
adding it to the list of available preference options for popup lists.
- Fixed problem of title text in main preference menu being
in the wrong color in certain themes.
- Fixes display issue in 3-day view of the second weekly view
whereby the shading for selected days was not being displayed correctly.
- Fixed problem of birthday entries causing unexpected reset
if birthday in a day of following year and display starts in this year. Also
fixed problem of age being displayed incorrectly in List View under some
conditions, and also problem of birthdays causing appointments to be missed in
the Today View.
- Fixed problem of not pre-erasing screen in Today View after
an item was deleted in the Details dialog if there was no color background in
the Today view.
- Fixed a significant class of problems related to modifying
repeat ToDo's that were created in Datebk5 which could result in unexpected
resets.
- Next Monday scheduling option in the
context-sensitive popup list if issued on a Monday will now go to the next
monday as it should do (and is then consistent with how this works elsewhere).
Note that This Friday on the other hand will stay on
Friday if issued on a Friday.
- Fixed problem of the quick icon selection list not always
selecting the right icon when the Track Icons by Resource ID
option was selected.
- In Today view, if no color is selected for the background,
Datebk6 will now draw items in both the foreground and the background
color.
- Adds option to Today view to allow Today plus any number of
days up to one week to be displayed.
- Fixes problem in landscape mode of yearly view whereby the
repeating day/year buttons are not redrawn under some conditions.
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.0a, p3
- Fixed new problem in p2 of resetting when dateline tapped
(side-effect of new test for security in P2).
- Added second, More Advanced Prefs panel and as first item,
Select Order option now allows you to specify the order in which action
is taken when Select Button on 5-way (or Return from keyboard/graffiti) is
entered. Default order is: Details, Note, Link and Location, but these can now
be put in any order you like. Just tap on the selector and use up/down arrows
to set desired selection order.
- Adds option to include undated ToDo's in the Today View.
This does require that the General ToDo Sort preferences are not hiding
undated ToDo's (otherwise this option is not displayed). If undated ToDo's are
set to display, then a checkbox appears in the Select Items for display
in Day View dialog of the View Display Options dialog in the Today
View. Undated ToDo's if present are counted and displayed in square brackets
after the count of ToDo's due today.
- Fixes reset problem when crossing off an interval type
repeat ToDo created with an earlier version of Datebk5.
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.0a, p2
- Fixes security problem in Today view of allowing selection
and viewing of details/description of a masked event/ToDo.
- Fixes some minor memory management issues (although those
fixed do not appear to be ones that might have resulted in any crash).
- Avoids the Alarm Manger finding an alarm on the template
date if no alarms were set for the next fourteen years.
- Fixes problem of the highlight bar in the Today view (using
5-way navigator) not properly selecting the lines when in Small or Tiny View
mode.
- Fixes problem of New and Lock buttons in the Graphical
weekly view and New button in the List View not being properly relocated when
the screen size is being changed or screen rotated (on devices with extended
screens).
- Avoids reset if you tap on the ToDo line that displays the
number of ToDo's and you have the preferences set to display no ToDo's
(i.e. the status line is the only line to display).
- Reschedules alarms after the Delete All command in the
Record menu of the List View (this was a flaw that has also always been in
DateBk5).
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.0a, p1
- Fixes the problem of red time for next appt sometimes being
displayed on the next event if the event it should have been displayed on had
just scrolled off the top of the screen.
- Fixed problem of birthdays displaying past cutoff date in
List View
- End date in list view stored in Saved Views with a relative
date is now adjusted when the saved view is invoked.
- Fixes problem of not removing completely null appointments
that have a tagged note field when created from any view other than the
Day View (Day View was always ok).
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.0a, b8
- Fixes the NULL HANDLE error which could occur under some
circumstances when deleting a ToDo
- Fixes problem of the wrong ToDo being called up from the
Today Dialog
- Adds keyboard handling to ToDay View for calling up saved
views dialog and crossing off a ToDo/Float with option/period and
option/backspace-backspace.
- Now displays check-off circle for floating events just
before description, so that timed floating events now also display the
checkoff circle.
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.0a, b7
- Fixes problem of getting MemResizeHandle Failed?! error
when crossing off a ToDo created in DateBk5 with a note and a tag.
- Fixes problem of a corrupt urgency field crashing the
routine that allows you to change it.
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.0a, b6
- Fixes problem of Alarm Manager displaying alarms without
paying attention to the Alarm preference settings for that category.
- Fixes problem of getting a spurious alarm adjusted message
in Alarm Manager when 24hr+ option was selected but not propagated to all
saved views (it should have been automatically globalized across all saved
views).
- If there is no explicit ToDo icon, now displays icon
associated with ToDo category in the Today View.
- Fixes a bunch of reported issues having to do with general
stability (MemHandle errors, "ghosting" etc.).
- Implements range filtering for ToDo's based on urgency
level associated with each category (i.e. like ToDo's) - set in the Category
profile dialog for ToDo Categories.
- The Text color option in the View Display Options dialog of
the Today View has now been changed so there is an option to replace the color
of all text items with the designated color (check the Replace
checkbox). If the checkbox is checked, the color is forced on all
items. Otherwise, whatever color is displayed there is used as a default for
non-colored items, and the default is black (so black text would remain
black).
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.0a, b5
- Fixed spurious Unmapped OS5 Font error when
displaying an item in Large or LargeBold font in the Today View
- Fixes problem of not being able to remove/change the
Urgency field on ToDo's if there are no other attributes on the ToDo that
would otherwise cause an extended tag to be generated in the note field.
- Fixes new issue in B4 of losing the background on the top
line of the Today View when the date/time is updated.
- Found and fixed several locking issues in SavedViews
database - most likely they were responsible for the unexpected crashes after
Datebk6 had been running for 15 minutes or so. Anyone having that problem
should now re-test this.
- Ensured that tapping outside of any popup preference panel
selection list does not exit that preference panel.
- Fixed problem of not supporting transparency in small icons
displayed in Small/Tiny Font mode in Today View on hi-rez screens.
- Added No Birthdays field to Advanced Settings dialog
to prevent the display of birthdays from the Contacts Database (for those
users that want to avoid duplicate entries etc.).
- Added scan of birthday database to Monthly view if
displaying icons so Birthday Icon shows up in that view
- Swapped positions of Today View and Custom View buttons in
all views so Today comes after List View (more consistent) note that you may
need to adjust your preference settings to accommodate this change.
- Added preference option to today view so you can view Up to
One Week, Today or (new) Today and Tomorrow.
- Added Small Bold and Tiny Bold size options
in Today View so all text is in bold.
- Changed default on Today View to display gradient color on
initial install if device is OS/4 and can display color (might be problematic
on some older OS/4 devices, but should be ok).
- Fixed problem of title too long in Today View causing last
digit of day number to get lost.
- Added option in Monthly view to Hide Floating Events
- Fixes problem of snoozed alarm not sounding.
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.0a, b4
- Fixed problem of crashing when selecting a ToDo in the
Today screen with 5-way navigator (Tapping was ok).
- Fixed problem of potentially getting an Open MemoDB error
right after registering (with the checkbox checked to save the registration in
the memo database).
- Fixes problem of Last Alarm feature in Alarm Manager not
displaying the correct date/time if you have exited Datebk6 after the last
alarm went off.
- Ensures that the Force 8-bit Color Mode preference
setting is automatically applied to all saved views as a global preference
(obviously makes no sense to make it a saved-view-dependent preference
setting).
- Ensures that the preference setting in the View Display
Options dialog of the Today view does not display the popup list for font size
selection on devices other than Handera, SonyHi-Rez and other Palm OS devices
with HighDensity Option present.
- Made minor adjustments to display of Small font items in
Today View (tightened up leading by one pixel, increased number of items to
display by 1 and 2 for square/portrait modes respectively), shifted standard
Today View down by one pixel as top row of icon had no separation from bottom
row of title line.
- Fixed problem of not unlocking preference record when
upgrading preference database or launching repeat saved view (Each time the
view was relaunched, the lock count would increase, so after 15 re-launches,
there would probably be a reset with a chunk overlock error).
- Added feature to allow up to four separate icons to be used
for filtering the display in the list view.
- Fixed problem of date sometimes appearing as 0/0/1904 in
the Details dialog when creating a new appt.
- Fixed potential problem of having a mismatched/missing
resource database possibly causing DateBk6 to crash without any informative
error message.
- Fixed crash problem of double-tapping a ToDo in the Alarm
Manager list (and possibly an Appt as well) on newer PalmOne devices.
- Fixed problem of date on top line of Today View getting
scrambled if the number of digits in the hours changed (i.e. 9a to 10a or
vice-versa).
- Fixes problem of 5-way navigator button not being usable in
the Location Dialog. There's still one fuzzy issue - if you press Rocker
Right, the focus moves to the OK button rather than unhighlighting the string
and moving to the end of the field (only on initial entry to the dialog).
Fixes and New Features in
V-6.0a, b3
- Fixes problem of tapping OK button in location dialog when
field is completely blank and unchanged.
- Adds advanced settings preference to force Datebk6 to run
in 8-bit color mode on a 16-bit device because of serious bugs in the Palm OS
on that device (T5 for example). Note that gradient colors won't work properly
in 8-bit mode as there aren't enough colors to make it look good.
- Avoids having backspace exit Split-Screen dialog if insert
pointer is in the field for editing the Creator ID
- Fixed problem of repeat dialog not appearing from Details
dialog.
- Modified to never display undated ToDo's in the Today view
regardless of current setting in ToDo Sort preferences.
- Fixes problem of silent alarm feature in Alarm Manager only
silencing the first repetition of the alarm sound, not subsequent repetitions.
- Fixes problem of monthly view in text mode not properly
re-adjusting to display six lines in portrait mode and not properly
highlighting today in portrait mode (Square mode was ok).
- Fixes problem of Today View displaying the wrong day of
week name if start of week was set to a day other than Sunday (date was
correct, but day of week name was wrong).
- Fixed problem in monthly view with text of drawing the
shaded background behind text on the wrong days if the week started on a day
other than Sunday.
......
Cheers!
