DARKSLIDE 0.1
A pocket film-photography log for Palm OS.

Track film rolls, frame-by-frame exposure notes, and the journey from
loading a roll to organizing the finished scans. Works entirely offline.

INSTALL
Extract this ZIP on a computer with Palm Desktop and HotSync Manager.
Add Darkslide.prc to the Install Tool / Palm Quick Install for your Palm
user. Choose internal handheld memory, then perform a HotSync.
Open Applications, select the All category, and launch Darkslide.
This build includes the NS Basic runtime; no separate runtime is needed.
The README remains on your computer; only the PRC needs installation.

ROLLS
Tap New Roll and give it a name or reference number.
Enter film stock, camera, shooting ISO/EI, and an optional load date.
Use YYYY-MM-DD for a consistent date format; the date is a text field.
ISO/EI is the speed you shoot at, e.g. 200 when rating 400-speed film at 200.
The Frames field holds expected capacity, e.g. 24 or 36 (range 1-999).
Tap the arrow beside the current Status to choose:
Loaded / Finished / Sent to lab / Returned / Scanned / Organized.
The status popup shows two choices at a time; scroll for the others.
Scanned means you have digital files from the lab or your own scanner.
Organized means the scans and/or negatives have been filed.
These are manual status labels; Darkslide does not transfer image files.
Roll Notes holds lab instructions, processing details, and reminders.
Back keeps notes in the current edit. Save commits the roll.

FRAMES
The Frames button saves the roll before opening its frame log.
Tap Add to create a frame; its suggested number follows the highest
recorded number on this roll. You may edit that number (range 1-999).
Record shutter speed, aperture, exposure compensation, place, and notes.
Exposure fields are text: e.g. 1/125, 5.6, +1. Blank is allowed.
Frame Notes can record subject, light, lens, focus, or later observations.
Back keeps notes in the edit; Save commits the frame.
The same frame number may appear on different rolls, but not twice on
the same roll. You can record more frames than the expected capacity.
Roll returns to roll details. Each frame is saved separately.

FIND AND FILTER
Find + Go searches roll name, film stock, and camera, ignoring case.
Show filters by roll status. All clears search and status filtering.
Lists follow creation order, with 50 matches per page. Paging arrows
appear only when another page exists.

DELETING AND SAVING
Frame deletion asks for confirmation.
A roll with frame records cannot be deleted until its frames are removed,
helping prevent accidental loss of a complete frame log.
Save before leaving the app. Unsaved edits are not recovered after exit.
Cancel discards edits since the last save.

BACKUP AND UPDATES
Back up BOTH Darkslide-Rolls-v1 and Darkslide-Frames-v1 databases.
After HotSync, verify both are present in your Palm user's Backup folder
and keep a separate copy. The application PRC does not contain your data.
Install updates over the current app. Deleting it in the Palm launcher
may also remove the associated databases.

COMPATIBILITY
Developed for Palm Tungsten E2 with NS Basic/Palm 6.0.
Emulator testing has been reported; physical-device testing has not yet
been confirmed. Other Palm OS versions have not been verified.

LIMITS
Roll name 80 characters; film/camera 60 each; ISO/EI 5; date 10;
roll notes 2,000; place 100; shutter 16; aperture/compensation 12 each;
frame notes 1,500. No photo storage, GPS, exposure calculator, or CSV export.
